Just something you might want to think about. I think you have similar difficulties to me. I’ve been reading about long Covid where mainly the symptoms of breathlessness and fatigue keep reappearing. The specialists don’t really know how to treat it, but refer to viral fatigue treatments. They said pulmonary fibrosis is similar in effects. They said the danger of straining the lungs can mean more fibrosis that does not show up immediately.

Like you I think I’ve been fighting to keep what fitness I have. On good days I’d push myself a bit, but am noticing now I have a bad day the next day. So I’m changing my strategy a bit. I’m going to do a bit of exercises on good days, but not pushing. I’ve done this for 2 days now and find the next day I don’t regress. Their advice was to plan carefully and get things ready. One of their examples was climbing set of stairs equals long recovery but climb 4 stairs, rest then another 4 , etc has a much shorter recovery time. Your shower plan shows you are doing this with chairs, clothes etc in position. It’s difficult as drs. have consistently said to me, exercise. I have a friend who’s mantra is moderation in all things. Which I think I will follow. I hadn’t realised that extreme breathlessness could cause more damage that shows up later. It’s so annoying though when everything takes about 10 times it used to. You’re not alone though, we’ve just got to get used to it and take pleasure in small things.

pacing ourselves is the way to go.

It isn just showering where it all takes twice as long. it is everything. I wonder where the day goes but it is all sitting down recovering ,

Now I've got a knee causing more problems. Already have weak back. Changed sheets on bed and couldnt sit or kneel down when making bed with fresh bedding . Then couldnt reach to hang the washing up to dry, or take it down . All done with rests between . Today tried to fold sheets up to put away in limited space available . How do you do this while sitting down ? Took me ages. Then i wash my hair and it needs drying properly because it has grown too long i have not been to hairdressers since March and I have tried to cut it myself. It was very short in March , now longer where i cannot reach . Exhausting again and more sitting . Sitting is the easy bit . And I wonder where the time goes. !

Now I can sit and look at the flowers on my balcony. Lovely. Thats the way I like to sit.

Everything takes forever! It’s scary how quickly it all became too much! Luckily my husband has been fantastic but I would rather be well & do it all myself 😊😊 keep going & keep tryingx
