Time for a new PFT
The child has lost at least 8% in the last couple of years, but I‘m increasingly trying to look at what she’s able to do rather than fixate on the numbers, as they’re not the entire picture. She stunned the physios last admission by demonstrating dramatically improved physical fitness, even with active infections and her fev1 in the mid 60s. Managed to cycle 5 miles in 26 minutes, and her active heart rate is significantly down on previously. Pretty sure there are a fair few people with normal lung function who couldn’t do that.
Since diagnosis in 2014 my Fev 1 has dropped twice by 15% over the period of 2 years or less and then stabilised temporarily each time for a short while.
I no longer attend hospital and now have Spirometry tests at my GP surgery but these have not been carried out this year due to covid.
My last Fev1 was 24% but I suspect that it is now lower than that.
My last one a year ago was 25% fev1. I’m positive it’s lower. That’s why I’m curious.
Mine has consistently dropped albeit slowly every year for the past decade!
My FEV1 was stable, and then improved two years ago to lower end of normal, thanks to following all the good advice from people on here. Not sure where I am at the moment as I didn't get the usual annual check.
Mine varies between 41 and 45%
