I have had a phone COPD review this morning with my GP practice nurse specialist. She said that while spirometry tests are still being done for some in a hospital setting, it is highly unlikely that they will be done at GP surgeries for the foreseable future and certainly not this year. The reason being the risk of droplet spread.
I haven’t had one at the hospital prior to starting IVs and I don’t expect to have one starting IVs on Tuesday. In some ways it would be helpful to know before and after meds but on the other side I prefer not.

I’ve been told RBH is still avoiding it unless absolutely necessary but funding home spirometers for certain patient groups.
