Has anyone on here used lungwort? I have asthma and bronchiectasis and have been very congested lately. Just wondering if this could help?

If you put Lungwort in the search box top right, you will find other mention of the herb.

With any herbal supplement, you will need to check for interactions with your existing meds and be aware of possible cautions. Drugs.com interactions checker may be useful to you.

Hi, I dont know about lungworm but as Bkin says there are other posts on it and you need to check that it's OK for you.

Do you take anything like carbocysteine N-A-C to help soften the mucus?

Thanks for reply peege. No I don't take carbocysteine. I use Fostair inhaler & Montelukast tablets. I try to drink water frequently to keep hydrated and also do steam inhalations.

Carbocysteine was a life changer for me.

I used to cough all the time attempting to clear the sputum.

I ytake 2 tablets twice daily.

It thins the sputum and makes it easier to get up.no more sore ribs ! .

I also take fostair and Montelukast.

Thank you Oshgosh. Is this prescription only or can you get it in pharmacy?

Same here Oshgosh. In the summertime I try to leave it out but invariably end up coughing so at least I know its still working .

Its prescription only Rainbow but the N- acetyl cysteine (NAC) is available in health food shops ie Holland and Barrett. Ive always been prescribed it in other parts of Europe when I've run out of carbo

Thanks Maxiem, perhaps I won't go down that route then.

Hi. I have been taking lungwort complex for asthma and find it very effective. The formula I am currently using is from TwentyFirst Century Herbs but other brands are also available. I also thorough recommend yamoa (available on eBay) which cured my asthma by 90%. (It returned during lockdown, which I attribute to having to wear a mask.)
