Boosting immune system a potential treatment strategy for COVID-19.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to claim lives around the world, much research has focused on the immune system’s role in patients who become seriously ill. A popular theory has it that the immune system gets so revved up fighting the virus that, after several days, it produces a so-called cytokine storm that results in potentially fatal organ damage, particularly to the lungs.

But new findings from a team of researchers led by scientists at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis point to another theory and suggest that patients become ill because their immune systems can’t do enough to protect them from the virus, landing them in intensive care units. They suggest that boosting immunity could be a potential treatment strategy for COVID-19.

That's no brainer, but to boost the immune system we got to know how it works.

IL-6 secretion is also part of boosting the immune response but it increases the mortality.

The metformin drug which decreased the viral load(we have to assume it boosted immunity) does not decrease the mortality.

As a result, Most of the drugs used in COVID-19 treatment are immunosuppressive.

As immunosuppression is toughest(sic), it is carried out by drug companies for the welfare of the people and the easiest part of figuring out ways to boost the immune system is left to the people.

Boosting the immune system or keeping it in good form all year goes without saying at this time of the pandemic and even before pandemic.

Eating a good diet

drinking plenty of water.

supplementing with D3, a good multivit and mineral are just a few things I am currently doing. I may add to that as winter approaches.

In addition looking after mental outlook so as not to get over saturated with negative input while at the same time being aware of what's going on in the news concerning health. Its good we can be selective on what information we want to read and avoid excessive stuff some of which is just not worth reading.

Have a great day one and all.
