Hi cannot understand how people can be so stupid the way they are putting all of our lives at risk just so they can sit on a beach and spread the virus to each other. I am lucky only live ten min from the beach that even at six in the morning the car parks are half filled and the sands covered in rubbish. So can't use it at all. Wonder what they would say if you asked families why they think it's OK to sit on a crowded beach hut not in a classroom with just a few.?

I agree Pokermon. It’s total madness and very thoughtless. The rubbish left behind is disgusting.
Stay safe. Xxx😘🌈👍
How true that is, we are try to stay safe and these people think it's ok to sit on pact beaches with no thought of the virus which would spread so easily. It's about time they thought just for a minute about what they are doing and the risk they are taking. Have a lovely day and take care 🤗 Bernadette xxxxx 🌈
Simple answer, just spread piles of sand across classroom floors, take away all sense of discipline and demand that pupils leave their litter behind and schools will become more popular than south coast beaches.
Why havent we got the same restrictions as other countries for the beaches have in place. It is, at the end of the day, a very weak government fault with no backbone. It should become law that anyone flauting the rules will be heavily fined or arrested. Or make them clean up all the faeces and litter left on beach, its a disgusting state of affairs. The country needs to man up!
Totally agree it’s madness, we have people swimming in the local rivers putting both themselves and others at risk.
Perhaps if these stupid people were declined medical treatment it would make them think

I agree, tho I do feel sympathy for people who live miles from the coast & want a day out after months trapped in the city. A Bournemouth resident said “they shouldn’t come to our beaches.” Well they’re not OUR beaches, just cos we’re lucky & live at the seaside. But the numbers flocking there were crazy, & the rubbish left behind, disgusting. I don’t know what’s so great about Bournemouth! People interviewed had come from Birmingham, Milton Keynes & Watford, must’ve spent hours driving. At Brighton & Hove it’s a regular problem in summer, beach parties & bbqs til the early hours, lots of noise, drugs & alcohol. A nightmare for residents trying to sleep. Luckily my area is very quiet.
Bournemouth town centre itself has become very run down over the years and once we made the mistake of going there in June one year and won't do it again.
I have been to Brighton a few times and eastbourne which is Victorian with its pier and one day we had stopped at a Saxon town near Brighton called Lewes which had been packed as it had been Easter weekend when we had gone there!
Used to go every year as a child not been back though a lot of people say it’s changed
Oh yes, Lewes is lovely, it’s very hilly though so difficult for anyone with rubbish lungs
A very good point!!! Can’t sit in classrooms but can sit in crowded beaches!!! I wonder what that’s about!! I totally think it’s possibly pure ignorance
We were discussing this over dinner and said how we felt that kind of behaviour was very selfish doing that and how it's often the case in life that we have to do without as driving 5 hours to the beaches in our view is ridiculous really!
How are you coping in the heat and the cats as baby has been unsettled by the heat giving us bad tempered meows!
Bad tempered meows? Gosh how does that sound? Our three have some great places to keep cool 😎- bushes - under the bed - I keep the curtains closed with windows open and this evening we’ve got a nice breeze coming through with patio doors wide open - the cat across the road had been visiting a lot and been cheeky coming in eating the food but I think Mollie fancies him 😂😂😂
You are wise beyond your years! Xx
Laurie, you have put your reply on the wrong post and i think you meant to send it to JerryMaren lol perhaps a copy and paste is in order. x
Sticking my neck out a bit here, but I'm wondering whether we're in danger of not following the science. The beach issue is more about disruption, bad behaviour and litter, rather than virus transmission risk. People tend to arrive by car and keep in family groups, 1m from others to respect private space; fleeting contact with others, no sharing of food or other items, or speaking to them. UV levels were so high that the virus won’t last long on surfaces; more a risk of skin cancer!
Contrast this with parties, where there is a lot of contact between people, food and other items, and plenty of opportunities to contaminate surfaces. If I were responsible for enforcing legal requirements concerning coronavirus, I would prioritise parties; but I would still expect our police to break up fights on the prom as they would do normally, not because of a significant viral transmission risk, but because assault is still a criminal offence!
It’s a pity we don’t know exactly who throws their rubbish around. Someone could go round at night and empty bins in their gardens. See how they would like that. I really don’t know what the answer is to these very selfish people.
