Brits in the early stages of Covid-19 will be given an inhaler which sprays an experimental drug into their lungs as part of a nationwide trial.
Scientists hope the nebuliser will stop people from entering a rapid deterioration phase and enable the immune system to fight off the infection at home.
The trial was launched by the University of Southampton and initially only people living within a 40 mile radius, who had tested positive though an official channel, could take part to allow the SNG-001 drug to be administered within 72 hours.
