Eye Drops for Sore swollen eyes during chemotherapy

Just approaching my second chemotherapy, and one of the more troublesome side effects of the first (and still troubling me badly 16 days later) has been sore, swollen and watering eyes.

I've tried Opticrom which is what I've always used if pollen etc., irritates, but that is fairly ineffective for the current problem.

Just wondered if anyone has found an over the counter solution that I can request the pharmacy to deliver, or if a prescription item, can ask for on my next visit from the Healthcare nurse on Tuesday next?

Try Hycosan? Or Hycosan Extra?

I use these for dry eyes and the chemo might have caused this. No preservative included in these, that’s important.

Hope things improve for you very soon.....🌸🌿

Thank you! I see Amazon have a few options under that brand, so will try one.

Thanks for that too :) - will ask the nurse when she comes next week.

The chemo team can advise you on this.

I am prescribed Hylo tear for dry eyes but check with your chemo team before using anything they usually know all the side affects and how best to treat them.

Best wishes for your on going chemo.

Keep safe and well.

I won't see the nurse until Tuesday, and even the local chemist is closed over the weekend, but I do have some Hylo eye drops arriving today from Amazon!

Sounds as though these drops may be more effective than the Opticrom that I have.

That's great, I find Hylo tears very good :) Hope you find they work well for you too.

I use Hyabak eye drops, recommended by my optician because I have had dry eyes all my life and wear contact lenses.

The Hyco Plus that I got seem to be making a difference. Most noticeably when I woke up this morning. The one drop it dispenses is very effective.

I was tired yesterday, so eyes pretty sore anyway, and was glad to go to sleep.

I'll see how things are today, but so far, so good!

Thanks so much for the recommendations.
