Caring practice

Two weeks ago I had a phone call from a nurse at the doctors surgery to check that I was okay and had what I needed, last week the Respiratory nurse rang with the same questions and tonight my doctor rang to check that I am okay. I count myself lucky to have such a caring practice!

You are very lucky indeed Carole. Our surgery hadn’t been in touch at all.

Hope you’re keeping well. Good to see you. Xxxx😘

Really pleased to hear this. I wish all practices were like this

Our practice is really good and the receptionists are fine and there's one who's really nice called Lesley who is an asset to the place and the doctors I have met and the nurses as well have been very nice and helpful.

There was one I was registered with that was rubbish and there was a young receptionist who was very rude there not something you want when you are poorly and some of the doctors there were bullies when they have no right to bully ill people as they are there to help those who are ill or injured not bully them!

I must admit that before and since the lock down my Surgery as been very good. Both my wife are shielding and we each have had phone calls. We both get phone calls from the council and yet more from the volunteer group within the village. Checking we are OK.

I am glad your surgery is looking out for you. It seems some are better than others. Like Badbessie, we have had several calls from our surgery and now 5 from the council, checking we have all we need. This is from a very busy practice, so I am impressed. We are in the extremely vulnerable group though.

I live in a rural area, perhaps they are better than the urban areas, I have also had calls from the council, the local parish council and something called community help which is based in the county town. I am in the extremely vulnerable class so perhaps that's why. Keep smiling

Nobody from my surgery has contacted me even though they are aware that I am considered vulnerable and should be shielding .

I was contacted too by my surgery to see if I was managing. However she ended the call by asking for details of my Next of Kin! 😂

My Bronchiectasis nurse from hospital rang to say that they are doing their check up appointments over the phone. Now my next one is in 4 weeks time but she knew I am currently not in my home city but miles away but wanted to let me know their plans in advance so I didn't feel I had to travel couple of hundred miles to go there. Felt nice that she remembered my individual circumstance & was bothered to get in touch 😊

I have heard nothing from my surgery, but at least they put me on the high risk list .

That’s good news. Nice to think they care as it’s very difficult for many people. Cx

Absolutely nothing from our practise which surprised me because usually they can’t be faulted. I also have a husband wheelchair bound too but we are both fine as I hope you are too.
