Maybe check in with the Quit Smoking community on HU? Lots in the same position and probably best able to help. Good luck :)

You can do it, and will feel a million times better for it too. And save a fortune too... Good luck :)

I set a date, 1st August 1985, and from that day I was a non-smoker. Did a lot pf preparation work beforehand, though.

Well done on deciding to stop! I used a Nicorette Inhalator - that is safe (nothing like vaping) and that really helped me and it takes the edge off cravings. I tried to stop with it twice before I succeeded but ironically I think that was because I was trying to use as little as possible - I’d use as much as you need (without exceeding the max dose). That was a real lifesaver for me but there are lots of nicotine replacement methods if you would prefer a different one. Some people say you should give up cold turkey - that’s great for those who can do it, for the rest of us, anything that can help should be used. The important thing is that you actually give up, there’s no virtue in suffering excessively while you do! Best of luck, I know you can do it.
