Government letters re help with shopping

Having received the Government letter (now 4 different letters from different departments!), I looked forward to receiving begging e-mails from all large stores! I got one from Asda early yesterday morning, immediately signed up and was delighted to be offered many delivery slots. I chose one which will be recurring weekly until start of October.

I was a bit surprised to not receive any e-mails from other stores, including Tesco which I have been online shopping with fortnightly for many years. It's not that I want to shop with them all by any means but I just expected more!

What has anybody else received if anything?

Likewise, received text, letters etc and not heard anything from Sainsbury’s or Tesco both of whom a have regularly online shopped for years.

Pretty poor if you think about it.

Stay safe and well

I've not received emails from supermarkets but on checking their websites delivery slots have opened up for me since I contacted my GP.

Just checked this on Sainsbury's site:

We’re prioritising vulnerable customers for delivery

We’re really sorry, but we haven’t been able to identify you as one of our elderly or vulnerable customers based on the information we have. We’re now working with the government to identify those who are most in need.

We’ve expanded our Click & Collect s

Like you I received letter two weeks ago have not had anything from any supermarket I regularly do online shopping with Asda and Tesco tried Sainsbury’s but like you I’m neither vulnerable or elderly 😂 makes you feel somewhat surplus to requirements. Tesco I have to say are the worst have not received any notification of what they are doing did get an email from

Asda telling me they are going to prioritise the vulnerable and the elderly. But I won’t hold my breath.

I was quoting what you said in reply to Sainsbury’s website by not identifying me as being elderly or vulnerable I am 72 years young and in self isolation for 3months. Sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say I was not implying that you wasn’t vulnerable or elderly.

Heard from Sainsbury’s and Asda. One delivery from Sainsbury’s on Good Friday but then switching to Asda as they can do a delivery each week whereas nothing on Sainsbury’s website.

Stay safe xxxx

Haha how lucky are you 😄 I’ve had nothing from anybody! Not the Dr or hospital or the government or a supermarket! I must not be as poorly 🤒 as I thought

Exactly what I have been telling myself. HF, 6 stents and severe COPD, obviously not serious at all. Phoned Drs and receptionist said they don't send the letters out, the government do! Oh well, I am shielding myself, luckily I have sons to do my shopping but many are not so lucky.
