A friend phoned with the new figures which Im sorry I didnt write down but the dead are in the high 600s, and Im particular shocked and sad that two nurses died, one I believe from the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in Margate where I was for my last two admissions. A bad day.

Very sad Jean and we’ve not peaked yet. Dreadful. Stay safe xxxx

And you and Pete, Carole xxx

Sadly, this may just be the beginning.

Lack of PPE kits from the beginning will, unfortunately, take their toll on those working on the front line from the start.

My thoughts are with those passed and those confronting this virus on our behalf on a daily basis.

So devastating! And we’ve got a month of rising fatalities yet I fear before it starts going down, so the experts say.....

Sad to say its in excess of 3 thousand 600 currently 02.

Keep Safe and well.

How awful. Let's hope with this lockdown that cases start dropping in the next couple of weeks. x

A friend who is a retired nurse who we campaign with (Save Our NHS in Kent) has just sent a facebook notification of a candle lighting for the nurse from the QEQM who has died.

Just editing in, we just heard a cousin of Rita's has died - she knew him when she was little and not seen him for some years. But it feels nearer.

Thanks for responses, friends.

It sadly will get worse before it gets better. I make no further comment mainly due to the fact that many have flouted the isolation instructions and others are now paying for their selfish actions. Stay well

Sadly it was inevitable that the virus would claim the lives of nurses as well as doctors along with the increasing loss of life in those members of the public infected.

I hope that people who flaunt the lockdown and social distancing advice take note but I doubt it. Thankfully they are in the minority.

Very sad 02trees take care.

Sorry to read this. It brings it home when people and hospitals you know have suffered. My daughter says the virus is in every ward at her hospital and that up to yesterday 16 have died. I’m so worried about her as she is pregnant too.

Take care

My son and his wife both work for the NHS and we are worried for them Their PPE stocks are dwindling quickly. x

Awful - they must feel they are in the middle of a nightmare like most NHS workers must feel.

It is very, very sad and, as sassy said, we have not peaked yet; we must try not to dwell too much though (I had a very 'down' day yesterday, and trying to get back up to cup half full, as opposed to half empty). Hope you feel better soon. Stay well xx
