4 parts Dubonnet, one part gin,
Ice and lemon, and the Queen is in!
The drink is made from fortified wine,
Herbs and spices, and quinine,
So cheers your majesty, bottoms up,
Good health and fortune fill your cup.

I no longer drink but that sounds horrible. Glad Her Majesty enjoys it though. Great poem. Xxx
I read this news on my news postings this morning and detected a rhyming metre in there! I had a bad experience with gin when on holiday in Jersey at the age of 18. I couldn't stand the smell of it for 20 years. Port and cheese I do like!
That sounds like a waste of gin to me! No offence your majesty π
Definitely .,Tonic please but not too much
Absolutely, with ice but hold the lemon for me. xx
Try lime..? Actually I've just been having elderflower and tonic a lot lately and leaving out the gin but the lime is important . No reason , don't know why. Haven't given up alcohol. As a special treat I have recently found some truffle flavoured crisps and those definitely need a martini with them. !
LOL I like it π but no clue how it would taste, but I do like Lemon πππ
It's probably the reason she has lived so long - she is pickled in alcohol!

You made that up David. ππ€ͺ I hope you are okay. You've been very quiet lately. xx
Oh ye of little faith! No, not made up. I read that on a news post from My London on my mobile this morning. The ingredients were listed "4 parts Dubonnet, one part gin, two ice cubes, and a slice of lemon. Dubonnet was also described as a fortified wine with herbs and spices, and QUININE.I saw the rhythmic pattern in the words and I thought I'd try and convert it to verse!
I'm ok, relaxing after Mondays visit to hospital. I'll pm you later.
Her Majesty is not amused that Caspiana is bemused π§
