Bees are after me for sitting on their mate! Went in my bedroom today and what a sight. The cats chasing five bees!
Can you imagine if they got one in their mouth? Scarey thought.. After looking outside, we see where they are getting in.
I have put tape around the window ,in any spots they might squeeze through. Hubby sprayed outside. See what happens. From what I read, they are looking for a spot for the queen to hibernate. When it gets cold, the workers will all die. There could be 300 or more of them! The queen lives on ladies! π what do you think of the photo?
Handsome fellow , isn't he?

very nasty if they get their mouth stuck our pup got stung in the summer very swollen mouth and Β£60.00 vet bill for a jab luckly after jab he was ok with in couple of hours , take care
Hi ruby, I take it you don't live in the UK, here we refer to wasps as " yellow jackets " I Just looked them up on Wikipedia (link below) they call them wasps as well. Mike.
I don't really mind them, they do an awful lot of good in the garden by eating all sorts of pests. If you need to get rid of those that are coming into the house you can use a wasp trap, easy peasy to make. Good way on Wikihow see link wikihow.com/Make-a-Wasp-Trap
We had a similar problem they made a nest in the window frame (it was wooden then) all we could hear was a buzzing couldn't figure out what it was then watching outside saw them coming and going had to get some spray and then fill in any gaps, hope you manage to get rid of yours
Hard to get any sleep. I'll be worrying I'll get attacked by them! Seem to be coming in the window. I just really don't see where. How many times did you spray?
I think giving them a house of their own would be ideal. Probably an empty wooden box with a hole for them to get in. Size 2-3 feet high 2 feet wide. Possibly you could attract them by putting something sweet near the entrance. Then the worker bees will die off and you will be left with the Queen. She will need to be moved well away from your house before she lays any eggs.
There is an old English tradition that says you have to "Tell the bees" Any important family event such Birth, Marriage, Death etc. It is supposed to bring luck. I expect somebody here will know more. I remember a very elderly aunt who used to keep bees, telling me about the tradition.
The Queen bee is probably in our wall! Its been terrible on here this weekend. Then people apologizing to Robin. Now mad again. Try to stay out of it, is the best thing to do.
Everything was running smoothly. Sorry your depressed. All that bickering on here gets anyone down. George knows your upset. Hes such a sweetheart!
Thank you dear Ruby. Have you seen my post on knitting chicken sweaters? The comments on the Pattern link are hilarious. I had never heard of rat hammocks before!
I will Ruby, he is glued to my side. He even let me pick him up and cuddle him for a while this morning.
I ruby, are they " bum " ble bees ππ we had a bees nest last year in our loft, hubby blocked the hole up after they left, they tried to come back this year realised they couldn't get in and buggered off ( thank god ) I don't mind bumble bees tbf, it's wasps I don't like much ....
