I am known asthmatic and Bronchiectasis patient from last 15 years This time very depressed and uncomfortable today because of fear of having Lung cancer.
Reason being I am having continuous persistent yellow or gree cough with chest uneasiness despite having two courses of antibiotics and daily nebulised with hypertonic saline to clear the airways of mucus...Generally this type of felling never felt before honestly .
I have checked on NHS site that persistent cough and chest
cough that doesn't go away after 2 or 3 weeks & chest infections that keep coming back are the main symptom of lung cancer
Send the sputum for testing yesterday for which the results are expected only a late coming week ..
Very confused as in today COVID - 19 environments, getting GP appointments and specialised chest consultants referral is impossible

So sorry for your concerns sandy and for persistent chest infection and cough. Its good you have a sputum sample in for testing and hopefully the results will come back with an indication of the right antibiotic needed.
Do make a telephone appointment with your doctor about your concerns, and phone the BLF helpline for additional support.
I am keeping everything crossed for you and hopefully its not cancer at all just a very stubborn chest infection, which non the less needs sorting out.
The main symptom of my bronchiectasis is a chesty cough and continuous chest infections. It can take a while to get the right antibiotics to shift the infection.
It's not likely you have lung cancer...getting a sputum sample done was smart...they should also grow a culture for app 7 weeks to see if u have picked up another bacteria...
