Would like to know of any potential hazard ie family pets etc
. how about covid 19 for a start
It may be i convenient but do promise to visit me to discuss my needs !!!
No workman is coming into my house at present and Anything coming into my house at present is stripped and discarded ,or washed with soapy water ,
They have been phoned.
Someone has been asleep. Rip Van Winkle ?

ha ha that made me laugh Jaybird - visions of you stripping the gas man naked. disgarded, washing and hosing him down
No for sure don't let him in, too much trouble to disposed of his clothing and shoes and even after scrubbing and disinfecting him I don't think its hygienic to have a naked person floundering around in your kitchen.

was this posted under humour? Apologies if not. I wouldn't let anyone in either at this time of coronavirus, in fact I do believe its a government directive.
Not a joke i assure you . One neighbour has phoned . I will tomorrow . Just an automatic mailing I think but doesnt speak well for com panyif they cannot get that system up dated but it is very near April Fool s Day.
Can you check if this is essential work for safety reasons? If not I would contact the company to delay the whole thing if that's at all possible.
My understanding is that after a gas supply has been cut off, once it is reconnected all gas appliances within the property have to be checked to ensure they are working correctly.
A n error. i think they forgot to cancel automatic mailing but will certainly phone i live in 70s block of town houses next to 1930s houses who have just had electric supply up dated this year.
On a more serious note - this information may help:
Check with your supplier about the necessity and safety concerning the work to be carried out. Not just from Gas safety point of view but also from coronavirus spread point of view.
Its probably that they have forgotten this automatic mailing. But it is only shelving a disturbing process. Moving the meter for safety reasons .? Digging up drive and garden ,! Told not to landscape garden ! Seriously!
Phoned them and told they stopped last wed . my letter was sent mon but arrived sat last. Replacing steel pipes with plastic...??! All pipes have to be done by 2025. The work can be affe cted by outside influences which is probably why you had 2 letters . Meters are to be moved if necessary . For safety reasons. As mine is currently under my chair i wanted to know safety reasons . ( meter in garage, living room over garage) appliies to meters in enclosed spaces like cupboards.
Safety isnt always what is intended i have found lately .
