"This is not a rehearsal"

Such a brilliant public information message from an NHS respiratory team - brought tears to my eyes. After tourist destinations including our town and beach being flooded by inconsiderate people, it feels very relevant and very powerful.

I thought it was excellent, but then so was the plea of Dawn, the nurse from York who looked exhausted, frustrated and upset and still some were carrying on in a disgraceful manner. Grrrrr!

I have to disagree,as touching and relevant as it was they should have worded it better,it gave the impression that everybody should stay at home without giving regard to those working in occupations that will feed and support those that have to self isolate under medical grounds and many key workers may literally stay at home, somebody should have thought of that?

I think it was simplified to have maximum effect Skis. If you'd seen Whitstable this weekend (Ive only seen it on facebook!) I think you would understand the need for such a message. Its the same in the Highlands, Cumbria, Cornwell - those places have little enough medical resources just for themselves. A friend posted a great poster telling visitors and second homers to stay at home - dont expect it to help though, people are very thoughtless.

Im waiting for news from tonight's Cobra meeting.

The statement and they way they presented it was superb but as you know the general public are not necessarily the sharpest pencils in the box and i still feel it might end up being counter productive and misunderstood.i do hope i am proved wrong. :) x

It was exactly the same in Scarborough absolutely packed with crowds of people we were shocked to see this on the TV.
