should I go on a bus tour at the end of April?

I'm 70 and my husband is 73. I have bronchiectasis with asthma. It is well under control.

My concern is that we plan a bus tour that starts at the end of April. We will be with about 50 other people for about 9 days. We live in the states and the tour is of northern California. With this virus, who knows what it will be like in 6 weeks.

My husband doesn't seem concerned at this point, but I'm thinking that if this virus gets more populated, I would like to cancel the trip.

If I were you I would cancel the trip. Good luck. Carol

I agree with Smikra Scientists & medical experts seem to agree this will get worse before it gets better. Anyway, you’re unlikely to enjoy the trip if you’re worrying about Coronavirus

I would go and enjoy. If the situation deterrents to that extent in the US which I doubt very much that it will, the tour operator will cancel.

My advice would be to ask your GP and also your tour operator. If you do go have a fantastic and take good care of yourselves 😊 Bernadette xx

I'd like to say go - life is short and we need to enjoy what we can - but in your place I would be worried. I go out a lot, community meetings and events, cinema (back row). But previous to and regardless of this virus, I never go into environments Im not able to control. That's how I base my decisions. Don may well be right that if the virus spreads the decision could well be taken out of your hands and the tour operator will cancel.

Since you're posting here, I am thinking that either you or your husband have a lung illness. So, nope, you should not place yourself in the midst of many folks. Too easy to contract disease. J

I think you already know the answer and what you think is best for you. I personally am waiting till April to see what the situation is before deciding whether to book to go to a Wedding in June, I am thinking if it continues as it currently is chances are I won't be attending.

I'd love to say go, but I don't think in good conscious I can. There will be other tours in other buses at a better time. xx 👋😁

Build up your immune systems by eating well - and be guided by the situation- postpone may be a good idea until this blows over- and it will 💕

Hello Beth1949

In light of what is happening around the world at the moment, I really don't think it would be safe to go and will you really have a good time worrying about washing your hands, touching anything, people around you coughing😕

I would plan the next trip and I am sure there will be plenty more to come!

Take good care both of you 🌈

In the states, we are now being told that if we are older adults, or have health conditions, we should stay at home as much as possible.
