Another question copd diagnosed a few weeks ago , please how do people cope and deal with their chest tightness. Is there a solution or is it something that you have to just put up with. Can the doctor's give you anything ?
Thank you. Xxxc

Hi, which tiptropium inhaler have you been prescribed? I had spiriva from which I felt no benefit. It was changed to braltus last November and, although it hasn't helped with regard to breathlessness, it feels easier to breath now and my chest feels less tight most of the time.
It may be worth mentioning your problem to your GP or nurse. We all respond differently to inhalers and there are many different ones.
It can take up to 4 weeks to get full benefit from an inhaler but if you haven't noticed any benefit it may be worth contacting your GP or nurse. I hope you get some relief soon. Chest feeling tight is unpleasant even if not particularly debilitating. Best wishes.
My diagnose was emphysema afew weeks ago mild to moderate. Had my lung function test done just yesterday but they said results would go to my gps. im so scared of this disease and I know that isn't helping me.
I still feel like crap after 8 weeks and no energy to do anything. I would like to go back to work soon but can't see that happening any time soon.
How if at all does this disease be managed ? Can I come through this? Will I cope are some of the questions that come to mind. .sorry to ramble on but I've absolutely no clue on what's to happen to me
Thanks xxxx
Anyone have emphysema and can give me any tips , what to expect and what I can do to help myself. Xxxxxx
I have had emphysema for years. I get a tight chest and am not sure it is emphysema. Mainly flare ups are caused by emphysema and chest infection people with emphysema are more prone to... Keep warm, keep as active as possible, no vaping or smoking and try and keep. a healthy weight.. chest tightness is no fun at all, so vague a symptom.
Ask your GP for a referal for pulmonary rehabilitation which should help you learn how to deal with your diagnosis. There are also usefull information leaflets available from the British Lung Foundation if you haven't been given any by your GP.
Hi Polly I have Salamol which doesn't seem to help.
No I haven't got any plan to work from.
Seems everytime I go to my doctors it's like, oh that's to be expected or that's normal , I'm feeling my Gps don't really want to help. And I haven't got My first Cpod clinic until May. What do I do until then ? I'm so glad I found this group everyone is very supportive and kind. Xxxx
