Fostair 200 and chest tightness

Hi

I take two puffs twice a day of fostair 200 and it seems to be causing me chest tightness recently. Was fine for the first 6 weeks on it but now had chest tightness for last week. Breathing is fine though.

I went off it for a day to see if it was the fostair and I didn't get it.

Anyone else had this problem?

Heart was checked out not too long ago and all fine

Thanks

Sinclair

Hi

I had the same with Seretide and change to Fostair NEXTHaler 100/6.

Speak to your respitory nurse or GP, there are other alternatives which may be more suited.

A 4/6 weeks trial is enough to decide if it's suitable. That gives time for the previous to clear your system and the new to start working.

Sometimes a inhaler can do the opposite of which it's intended for.

I agree Stone, some inhalers have made my chest tighter.....Serevent was one . We are all different in what suits us.

I have had an inhaler called "Onbrez" do the same.... and worse, it made me cough uncontrollably and embarrassingly, lost complete control of my bodily functions. I only managed two puffs over two days before I was ringing up the doctor, I have never had an allergic reaction like that in my life. A most unpleasant experience. It got changed to Spiriva and I have been fine on that.

I take that in the dry powder form or nexthaler as the aerosol was even giving me chest tightness

I was moved from Spiriva respimat to Braltus. Caused me real grief until I got changed back by the G.P.
