I rang my gp's today to see if my repeat prescription was ready only to be told it was and my gp had added a rescue pack of sted's and ab's to the script in case I needed more over the holidays, now that's service.

Excellent service 👏hopefully you’ll not have to use them!

Shame my GP isn’t so thoughtful, I’ve got antibiotics but I’m refused steroids on the grounds it’s better to be seen with a flare up.

You have a very thoughtful GP. Hope you don't need them though but reassuring to know they are there in case.

Hello Soulboy - well done, yes you're lucky - I'm sure you've thanked him profusely - I find a card, thanking his staff, knowing and remembering their names- once, twice - next time you go in - and if more good actions come along, ask "how can I let our superior know how caring and helpful you've been? Wow...Does he have a website - tell him, I'd like to put a comment there and tell him/staff when it's up - create the buzz - I'm sure there are other ideas/ways to thank - know there's a need to keep those strong thank you's going into the future...and the tardy ones err need gentle nudging and sweet talking - or walk - if you can - or you can say nicely - "how can I get a second opinion please" and and here's the holiday homework ...oh no here it comes: "How to get, keep a good doctor, train your doctor, get them to see when you really need". - is that saleable ...anyone? Just reading these comments is good - and and many happy chrissies to all from

Absolutely, I'd say, that's a very good, first class service and I only wish all Doctors would be so interested as to read the NICE Guidelines for COPD and the benefits of having "rescue meds".
