I have always loved these little ponies. Many years ago, spent a few holidays on the top of the Cotswolds, there was a local farmer who bred them. At the back of the field they were kept in, was the start of a large beech wood, a few times, when I was doing an evening walk with a rather large Irish Wolf Hound, I caught a glimpse of a badger walking around on the outskirts of the wood. Your picture brought back some happy days.
They are so sweet thank you for sharing have a good night and take care of yourself π Bernadette xx
Hi, Are these animals near to where you live? Its good to see just one but so many of them getting on with their lives is such a pleasure to see. If they were near me I'd want to see them every day! You always manage yo take a photo that lifts my spirit. Thank you.
Hi RR yes they are very local to me free roaming cattle donkeys ponies shelties .deer ..I see them daily as I'm a self employed dog walker so use the forest and beaches which are within 10 mins walk to where I live . And your so welcome I'm glad that you enjoy them as much as you do πππ
That's just lovely ππ΄
HH they are sweet but cheeky π
How so? Do they come up to you for a chat and hoped-for snacks? ππ
Locals dont feed them its tourists that think it's okay to feed them and it's not these are wild shelties with free roaming on the forest but they get used to being fed and start to follow ppl around they will nip if given a chance lol πππ
Nipping is definitely cheeky! I talk to cows and sheep I pass when out walking, some get to know me, especially the free ranging sheep. It has been known for me to be walking along with a whole flock of other people's sheep following me. They also go on the beach and love skipping around in the sand. Often I'll want to go on the beach and it's already full of sheep!
The child in all of us still love Shetland ponies, and alot of us still want one.
Wonder if one of these are a descendant of "Misty of Chincoteague" the childs book by Marguerite Henry?....a must have book for all children, no matter their age
A very beautiful picture.
