Hi Everyone, lately I find my oxygen level reduced and I get short of breath easily. Not unusual with COPD I know. But what has changed is how useless I am in the PM. The least amount of exercise drives my heart rate sky high and I am seriously out of breath. Sometimes a nap helps. If I need do do anything I must do it in the AM. This was always somewhat the case but is much worse now. Comments?

Afternoon fatigue and breathlessness
Being continuously short of breath uses up a lot of energy just in the effort to breathe. So you are more likely to feel more tired in the afternoon than the morning. Maybe an appointment with the GP or a review with your consultant if you think you have deteriorated recently. Easier said than done I know.
Hi, Pete is more breathless and tired in the afternoon. If we go anywhere it’s generally in the morning but you do seem worse than him. Appointment with respiratory consultant tomorrow at 4 so we’ll see what he says. I think you should speak to a doctor and be checked over. Xxx
Yes , I also have that problem . Anything I have to do is early in the day , as breathing gets worse as the day goes on .🤗 I haven't worked out why either .
Seriously I would discuss this with your doctor if you haven't already and be guided by his/her advice.
Take good care.
thanks
overexertion am can of course cause excessive fatigue pm, when the temperatures rise from mid day in the afternoon breathing can become more difficult, but because you mention high heart rate and that your symptoms are worsening it would be good to get checked out.Keep in touch and let us know how you go.

Just finished a chemical stress test and echo cardiogram and had a clean bill. Think it may be due to poor aerobic conditioning . I will try to walk more.
That's good news, best wishes with improving your fitness level, your doc should be able to help you with that.
Hi, I’m am only able to go for walks in the morning, always too breathless in the afternoon.
Having the same problem myself.Even with a decent oxygen level I become often very SOB, apparently when this happens is the case of pulmonary hypertension of some degrees .Is not serious but it should be considered and cured.I will suggest you a visit with a cardiologist and/or undergo checks..eg: echo cardiogram, ECG, Doppler and so on .
PS due to the current covid NHS limitations my suggestion is to go private in order to avoid long waiting times, is not going to cost you a fortune and you will sort out the problem in a couple of weeks, on top of this you will rely on longer and more deep visits.
Best wishes,
I have mild pulmonary hypertension, and yes I just finished chemical stress test , EKG and echo. Clean bill of health. My resperologist is presently doing studies on my sputum. No private docs here in Canada but I am very happy with the medical response even during lock down. Thanks for the input.
