I have supposedly got COPD and use a Fostair Nexthaler but since cutting right down on caffeine my breathing has massively improved.
Also the pressure that my APAP runs at is 3-4 cm lower as well
Why has reducing caffeine had such a great effect

Caffeine increases the heart rate ..which in turn causes shallow breathing and causes problems with oxygen flow round the body organs brain lungs etc etc πππ so not having caffeine you wont have those problems..that's my way of thinking anyway π
Caffeine is supposed to be a bronchodilator. Certainly I find coffee helps me to breathe better. I only make one pot of coffee at breakfast time though as too much caffeine isnβt good either π I donβt know why cutting out caffeine would make you breathe better. π€
I hope your theory is wrong,I need three mugs of tea before I can move in the morning!!!π
Hi Aingeful, why don't you try Tetley Redbush tea as it is naturally caffeine free Rooibos, so far the people I have introduced to it have really enjoyed it - bar one but- there always is a bar one
I've tried all these,it has to be the real McCoy!!π
I would have thought caffeine would have helped rather than hindered breathing, unless maybe going overboard. many years ago Chemist used to mix up some caffeine iodide to help her Asthma - Maybe the Fostair is helping rather than a lack of caffeine - just a thought - I have COPD and to be hones does not affect me and I take Fostair amongst others,
