My daughter has to go for tests at the beginning of May to see if this would help her breathing.

Hi, I'm scheduled for LVRS in June, and I've been told that they'll try keyhole first, and if there are too many adhesions, it'll have to be cutting through. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, but the surgeon has said it should improve my breathing. Will try to post again afterwards
Hello Croydonia.... how did it go, was it a success??
Hi Leener, I haven't had the op yet, its scheduled now for the end of July. Apparently they always try to do this sort of operation in the summer, to avoid lots of infections. I have been to see the surgeon, and he answered all my questions. It seems it's a very serious one, with quite a long recovery period, and you need to have a positive attitude and be prepared to work hard afterwards at getting fit. What has your daughter decided?
Unfortunately she hax to cancel her appointment as she was in hospital with another chest infection. She has only been home now 2 weeks and is waiting for another consultation.
Whhat method would they be doing?
Do let me know how you get on won't you.
Eileen
I will do Leener. They are hoping to do video assisted, which would mean small incisions, but will cut if necessary. At the moment I am doing pulmonary rehab course, which has made quite a difference, when your daughter is better, I would certainly recommend that. Best wishes to you both, I will let you know how I get on, once I'm back home

Thank xou mrsmummy but the article doesnt give me much help.
My daughter would be treated by bronchoscopy not surgical operation. Good luck Crowdonia
I had this operation in Feb this year it was done by VATS Video Assisted Thorasic Surgery (keyhole) I was up walking the day after operation
Thats so good to hear locococco. Are you breathing better now? Did they remove a lot of lung tissue?
Ask the pulmanologist about coils! New exciting treatment, much easier and less invasive! Look up the coils online!
Thanks paintbusters. Have you had this done or know someone who has?
