Get medical attention asap, that is exactly how my bout of Pneumonia started. Any chest pain should be treated as serious.

What is the pain like? Is it like a burning sensation? Or more like a punch, or stab from a knife?

I get 3 types usually

1/ slow lingering burning sensation, I am trying to breathe in old fashioned steam room, like we used to use in the gymnasium in the 70s! Until saunas became more popular.

2/ on the left side! Copd is not necessarily evenly distributed both lungs, you should get it investigated immediately! I WOULD CALL AN AMBULANCE, don't be embarrassed! It is a breathing problem! It is STATIS 1!! OK? DO IT.

3/ DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!, you are important, get it done, NOW

best wishes

Ok sounds like the burning sensation! Just relax, watch what you are eating or drinking, especially drinking! Water is best, as coffee, softdrinks etc, seem to make the liquid in the throat, travel slower & can irritate your lungs and throat and make you cough more!

Water is 1 of the heaviest elements on earth! Every drop you drink! Until you pass it, or sweat it out! It is dead weight your body is carrying, jockeys, quite often have to go for an hour or 2 without a drink because of the weight, this weight is putting stress on your diaphragm!

Still!!! 1 lung, your left one, you don't have xray vision:

Heart problems, first signs, usually on the left!

1 lung only, it could be worse than normal.

Go to the doctors today if they can't fit you today should go to a&e. I had similar pain last year and it was a nasty chest infection kept me a couple of days.

Dont leave it

I would often get a deep ache in the middle of my left side lung. It would be like a fist that is pressing against just left of my spine on my back. Very uncomfortable. It was usually a mucus plug that was blocking an airway. For some reason it was always in the left lung. I rarely even sleep on my left side because I cough more while laying on the left.

See a doctor to find the cause of your discomfort. It could be a mucus plug that could lead to an infection. I found that using a heating pad on my back helped. Also, to prevent future mucus plugs, use meds and techniques to keep the mucus loose and cough it up.
