Unfortunately we are not supposed to name and shame medical establishments on this platform so i will call Tameside general hospital never, never land for the purpose of this review.
After diligently standing in a queue to book into the walk in centre given that there are people in more immediate need of A & E i.e some without beating hearts and missing large chunks of grey matter etc the not so chirpy receptionist told me to go into the A & E queue as even without several A levels she could tell that not being able to eat would eventually lead to complete disappearance of the non Skiing man and just leave a cat orphaned.
A & E,all i could see where germs as far as the eye could see, limbs hanging off or distorted in some strange manner akin to certain yoga practices,oh and a bloke with a slight sniffle. The usual game of somebody plays the music and everybody looks for a seat was in full swing(i forget it's name) and seatless i awaited my turn.eventually i saw a rather pleasant nurse who recognising my POC instantly diagnosed Hypoxia and offered me a seat.the usual preliminaries were performed and the usual white coat effect blood pressure popped up on the screen and when the sats raised back to 91 from 86 i could almost hear her sigh of relief, short history given and job done, pop outside, find a seat and you will see a doctor soon.
1 hour later i am ushered into the usual cubicle, pointed at a bed raised to an impossible height for anyone but an olympic high jumper to reach i flopped into a chair and waited, and waited until a rather charming Phillipino nurse came, they are a credit to their nation, nearly always polite and smiling and comforting whilst their senior outside play on computer screens and juggle beds for fun whilst secretly keeping one windows box open on their screens for the occasional glimpse at the news or something on whats ap/up or whatever it is called.
A harry potter look alike appeared, only slightly younger but he had an impressive new stethoscope and a not so impressive sad attempt at a beard and i proceeded to give a full history and i think he was in agreement that the probable end game of this adventure would be an endoscope to ascertain the problems and off he popped.
Imagine my surprise when he came back and said i could go now and i would get a letter in a week or two inviting me as an outpatient to the gastro people,he appeared not concerned when i advised that i may dehydrate or dwindle into nothing in the immediate future and even mentioned that 2 weeks without food was sustainable and that as long as i continued to sip my water i wouldn't dehydrate and turn into toast lol
I requested his autograph, not because i really thought he was Harry Potter but as i advised him i wanted to pass it on to his mate PALS.
So home now after hastily arranging for all my meds to be issued where possible into liquid form at my surgery who where so concerned i even have an appointment with a doctor tomorrow.Bingo that's a first and maybe he can pit some pressure on to speed up what is rapidly becoming a farce, had i more energy and stamina i would have encamped in the hospital but i am safer at home.
P.s Catch my breath paid me a visit before his race as you can see in the photo.
Love to all Ski's and Scruff's xxx

Skis I'm at work but keep glancing surreptitiously at my phone to see if there's any news from you. I can't even start to express how outraged and disgusted I am that a doctor would not only send you away after you've said you've been unable to eat at all since Thursday, but to tell you to go back in two weeks?!!! What?!!! I hope your GP sees more sense and actually does something to help you. Unless this is the new policy to reduce costs by letting the sick and infirm die off and reduce the surplus population. Thank goodness our horsy friend was there to support you. Maybe he'll give someone a good kicking!
I thought I was reading a Peter Sellers or Spike Milligan farce . Gradually I realised you were in the midst of it for real and HP was in fact a ‘real’ NHS doc . I’m speechless .... thank heavens you will see your own GP tomorrow. Please let us know how you get on in case we need to come to your rescue. Xx Take care and stay calm🎺🏇
No knowledge of Harry Potter ! Keep the fluids up as advised earlier , perhaps scrambled egg very lightly done , to slide down easily . Pleased for you nothing too nasty ! Love to the cat!
Thanks for the advice but i am afraid that not even liquidised food is going down my throat without immense difficulty so i will hang fire on your other recipes.are you reading the same posts that i write lol
Hyper Bev,alas you are teaching granddad to suck eggs and i already have my foodlink complete prescribed but these wonder powders mixed with milk are still a problem for me at the moment with a throat as tight as a ducks a***.but ever so slowly i am forcing fluids both savoury and sweet down so i WILL survive. xx
What about soup with everything taken out, so basically just the cooking water which would at least have some nutrients. Which my phone isn't recognising as a word. Isn't it a word? Some vitamins and goodness is what I mean anyway. I'm worried about you Skis. I love my food (maybe a little too much) and the thought of you not being able to eat is really distressing, I can't get over how any supposed doctor could send you away and say come back in two weeks!! I just can't believe how any medical professional could think it's ok to not be able to eat.
Ha Ha HH like ledge you never fail to bring a smile to my face,i am souping as you say and i shall persevere with fiddling with an extremely soft diet until such time as it is sorted.i managed to get Cecilia through every phase of dysphasia onto a near normal diet so i have quite a lot of experience in the land of Sophie Gus. x
He may be in a better position to oil the wheels of motion,i could have kicked up a huge fuss but i am better approaching this in a more controlled manner and getting it sorted without any additional stress to add to my discomfort. x
I sincerely hope he is. I shouldn’t think it is a good idea to lose weight and nutrition in this way. Thinking of you , as others say, sometimes being too accepting is not a good thing. Throwing a wobbly is sometimes the only way, but we weren’t brought up to that were we. Good luck xx
i could have laid on the examination bed and refused to move until being dragged off to an overworked operative who had to cram in a hastily organised endoscopy and given me more grief than i ever wanted so i acted with my best interests i think x
What I think about that debacle is unprintable - it beggars belief that anyone of any age who's supposed to have medical training would even consider sending you home as you are. Thank goodness those at your surgery have a better grasp of your situation- I hope your doctor will treat it as an emergency and see that you're dealt with without further delay. I also hope he'll be making a strongly worded complaint about the idiot that you saw today. I'm spitting feathers for you - such unbelievable stupity, and doubtless he'll have a degree of some sort😤😠😡😡.
Wish you much better luck - and treatment for tomorrow. xx
My dear Magpuss,he certainly didn't have a degree in beard growing and almost certainly not in commonsense,i realise now that i am possibly guilty of showing too much rationale in these situations and in future i should just attend in a more dramatic and stressful manner with a few histrionics to boot. xx
The older I get, the more I realise that the calm, reasonable and rational approach only works with people who care how you're feeling. The rest just ignore you unless you start showing signs of 'spirited response'. I'd much rather do things my way ski's, but I'm not above catering for idiots when I have to - and it's less annoying than 'wishing' I'd said this or that, later on. I recommend a well aimed truth calmly delivered rather than the full on histrionics. In your case pointing out the glaringly obvious fact that no food and little fluid intake for two (or possibly more) weeks is more like medical neglect than medical attention, that should get their attention.
Hate to say it but it seems the older we get, the worse it becomes - why d'ya think us old 'uns get so grumpy😠😉
I'm taking you with me next time Grumpy lol but i worry about the bill for the clean up when you have done with them says he with a belly full of chicken cup a soup celebrating this veritable feast. xx
Oh there'd be no mess - only the worry and stress over the official complaints procedure they'd have to prepare for. Glad to hear you've managed a little nourishment today😊
Holy Christ on a Bike that's awful. No its not, its down right diabolical.
I was driving along this afternoon, casually wondering, if your were recovering from your trip to twilight world, all comfortably sedated and duly enlarged in the oesophageal department.
Not even thinking for one second, that you were infact immersed into a twilight world of nightmare proportions.
I don't supposed Harry Potter look alike went onto the compassion and see beyond the problem course. I trust that you mentioned your Barretts? That in its self, should set his grey matter thinking.
I think Houston we may have a problem, and arranged for an endoscopy pdq. Let alone the problem of becoming dehydrated and malnourished. Any respiratory doctor or nurse, will generally bang on about the importance of both. He obviously didn't or doesn't join up any dots.
Ledge, even when the chips are down you always make me laugh. you have such a good way with words and obviously a vivid immagination.as soon as i manage to see somebody in the gastrological world i shall quote you if i may?"i wish to be duly enlarged in the oesophageal department." timeless, classic et al x
Oh dear, dear Skis! That is APPALLING. UNBELIEVABLE. I have had to resort to capitals as I don’t know how to do italics on my phone. Tantrums at the doctors tomorrow, please. Take Scruffs and get her to bite, scratch.
CAPITALS from across the hill,my favourite Yorkshire lass is spitting feathers lol.i hope that it is just the Scruffy ones fur that i need to cough up and all will be well.advice taken and to be acted on tomorrow in true Macbeth style xx
Sorry skis , I hope you get some relief soon . Not happy with your treatment. My late husband had similar problems, I got in some really good liquid meals with all the necessary stuff help for you in the short term?
Apologise not and in normal circumstances your advice is invaluable,i do partake of something called foodlink complete with added fibre which is a bonus 430 kal of protein packed nutrition but alas it is even a struggle to swallow but only small amounts of that at the moment but i am ever so slowly consuming a chicken cup a soup at the moment,it may take an hour but i will force it down. x
Ski’s you sure this guy was a Dr? With suggestions like that he sure doesn’t sound like one!
When you see your GP see if you can be prescribed some liquid diet - pre-digested, in cartons & full of vitamins & other goodies. Not very exciting but would avoid deficiencies.
Powderpuff, thank you for your advice but please see my other replies and you will see that i have that avenue well covered.thank you once again though. x
I am sorry I cannot give a like to the medical pantomime. But have to give you a huge like for the way you have managed to maintain your sense of humour, through the terrible ordeal (which is not over yet).
Oh Ski’s you are wicked but I like u ... I burst out laughing at that last comment about poor 2 g’s boat . You’ll be in for it when he gets back. You’ll have no trouble getting food intake then!
Perhaps as well I lost my first reply. You are far too well controlled. I feel like paying them a visit and doing my war dance on your behalf. I cannot believe that your gp will allow then to leave you 2 weeks with no food. I think you may have to play the game and blue light yourself in. I am really worried about you Mike, please keep us updated x
Irene, you are a darling for showing such concern and the last place i want to be is in the hospital called never, never land under a blue light, don't forget they managed to screw up both my wifes stroke treatment and her IPF and managed her off the planet with great ease so they are not my favourite hotel and never will be.
p.a i am becoming rather fond of heinz chicken cup a soup and chicken bovril lol X
I would suggest going to the mri but that might be just as bad, shame we didnt get the lotto this weekend , could have sent you private. Keep with the chicken soup, at least it is something x
How awful for you, do you have a blender or stick mixer at home? All I can suggest is boil up a whole heap of vegies (whatever you have on hand) in some stock water, or chicken soup mix if you have it, then blend it all up to make a soup, add salt or pepper to your taste. At least it would be more nutritious than processed ready made soup? Good luck.
Thank you for your suggestion,i do blend a lot of my food due to the swallowing problem and i have nutritious mixes on prescription but even they are impossible to swallow now but once investigated i will follow your advice in making my own soups. x
Thank you for that link Pete,i will definitely use it at a later date but prior to that i will register a complaint with Pals, even though are a fairly toothless organisation and basically the hospital policing themselves as i found when i complained about my wife's treatment.
the higher priority is just ensuring i get treatment as swiftly as possible.
Carino, Dios Mio. Thank Goodness you are who you are mi Carino with a Strong Barrier Mask. You are just a Softy and we know it, My Heart goes out to you at this awful Time. Potter Give Ski's your "Magic Wand" He needs it right now to Instil Maturity in that silly Young Doctor who hasn't got a Clue... Hopefully your GP/Doctor Tomorrow can Magic up a Remedy for you, after you have explained all the stupidity played out at The Hospital. Stay Brave my Hero. Hasta Manana Carino, con mejor informacion. Besos XXXX Scruffy Abrazos. xxxx
Mi querida Carino, junior harry was last seen trying to recover his wand from whence i stuck it :)i don't he will forget my spell but i blame not the boy they sent but the wizards in the background who play merry with our lives but worry not i have magiced an entire chicken cup a soup into my belly and i shall fly tonight.
You just couldn’t make it up, and that’s because we see this farcical stuff played out time and again so all know just how real this problem is. Once I’m past A&E, I have to say my Hospital and the lovely staff are pretty efficient. The problem is getting past the madness that is A&E! Get well soon Skis 😊😊
Ha ha master Po,oil up the camper van and you can take me to my finca where drain rods await,i managed to clear a drain entangled with tree roots so a dodgy sophie gus should be a walk in the park with your assistance. x
Skis, believe it or not, for once in my life I am speechless! Where on Earth is the joined up thinking at that la la land of a hospital? I can’t believe it and hope your GP can move things along. You have enough to deal with without this.
Hope Catch My Breath left his mark.
Take care lovely man and scruffy, you can put your nurses hat on for now.
Hello equally lovely lady with lovely mate, Catch my breath did indeed leave his mark coming 4th ,a rather black mark in the Ski's account but i forgive him because at least he tried with is more than the staff in never never land.fear not all will be sorted and i am already a cup a soup to the good and busy slurping a cappuccino so things are looking up.
What can I say that has not been said above ? How poorly to you have to be ?
Maybe you owning up to being able to just about prize your lips apart with a crowbar and suck on the corner of a damp cloth gave them the impression you were suitably nourished and hydrated !!! xx
Once again i am cheered by another fine soul with a suitable sense of humour in adversity.i have done well tonight on my chicken tea towel with a desert of flannel cappuccino.Perhaps anger and frustration softens the gullet so maybe todays events were actually good for me. xx
It grieves me to say it but I think the NHS (which I cherish and praise) has reached the point where you have to kick up a fuss, make yourself a nuisance, just to get some basic care. Hope your GP can hurry everything up. Meanwhile ski's keep sipping the fortified drinks and go straight back if you feel worse,. Take care of yourself and scruffy. All good wishes to you x
So sorry to hear what happened today keep the pressure on with these people I hope you have more luck with your gp if not back to a/e with some back up if you can x
Fear not Soul,i will take my body elsewhere if they don't get their act together, ironically in normal circumstances i would avoid an endoscopy like the plague. x
It seems to me this is taking rather long Skis. It seems urgent to me. And if you have a dangerous swallow and there is and possibility of the liquids and food making it down into your lungs.... Not to be a wet towel or anything. (Not very hard in my present state of mind) I am hoping they will also do a fluoroscopy to evaluate your swallowing function. You also need to pass this information over to your bel dottore Italians he will definitely need to know if considering further surgery.
i am just off to bed dear Cas and i asked the salts team to investigate my swallowing some 18 months ago and they just were not interested as they were not interested with Cecilia's dysphasia, when i mentioned fluoroscopy their eyes rolled over as if i had mentioned Nuclear Fusion and that will probably be common place before they get their act together.
Don't concern too much of silent aspiration as i think my problems are slightly lower down but still a valuable thought that others in the medical profession just can't seem to understand.
Sorry i must attend to a demanding Scruffs and hit the sack xxx
Sky i think you will find that the 'Horse' is actually a Llama or Alpaca, check out the ears? but yes i just stole the photo and i imagine as you say they are visiting old folk in hospital to give them a bit of joy in their life. x
A good hearty liquor, only a few high-proof caliber drops, should keep you comfortable and without need for foods. I speak in jest because my heart truly bleeds for you. I truly hope the tube quickly opens to your comfort.
I found that a small blonde relaxed my throat, she is called Leffe blonde and was imported from Belgium before the brexit madness and reaches the parts other endoscopes do not reach and stops me drying up completely mrmelley x
p.s for any others worried about the nature of my reply it is a Beer and not a small lady lol
😟What a terrible experience! I can relate. I hope for a speedy recovery, is there anything else to do? Another hospital, another GP? In the meantime hugs to you💐🤗
Well skis I thought I was reading a Brian Rix farce at first. Hope your doctor gives them hell and manages to get you sorted before your 2 weeks is up or what will we do without your banter and inside info about CMB X
Appalling treatment. Not even a mention of an urgent appointment with a speech and language therapist to check your swallow. Hope your GP comes up with the goods today. Let us know how you get on. If they don't get it sorted PDQ, we'll come round mob handed and sort them out for you!
Dear Ergendl, the local Salts team in this area are next to useless and work in the dark ages, they have never heard of the likes of Video Fluoroscopy..radiologyinfo.org/en/info.c...
I have requested it long ago and was told it was not required as they had a book written by Janet and John on the subject. lol
I'm shocked by your post, Skis! How bad do you have to be to get treatment? Well, I hope you manage to get enough nourishment to sustain you and that your GP kicks a..e on your behalf. Good luck with your appointment. Thinking of you. xx Moy
Thinking of you. Hopefully your doctor will amaze and astound us by having some compassion and medical knowledge, both of which seem to be optional extras in the medical profession these days. Well and some common sense too, thinking that maybe not eating for two weeks isn’t such a good idea.
Bad boys and Bobby,i tried not to start a tirade against hospitals and my experience with Tameside are individual and i don't doubt others will have different opinions of services and procedures they have received and will be as equally pleased with them.
Sorry to hear that bobby, perhaps you can try and see if your gp will refer you to a consultant who may be able help improve your situation in the future
Normally the Harry Potter look alike would need to run his decision about discharge through either a register or consultant wizard before casting the spell to make you disappear from his responsibilities. From memory there is a spell book in A&E which gives guidelines for the treatment and spells required for various wizarding ailments which he must follow to ensure that his spells do not endanger innocent muddles. Personally I would complain to the chief wizard for muddle safety otherwise known as PALs.
Clearly Harry's boss professor Dumbledor m.d is the culprit and would have sanctioned treatment as an outpatient,Harry being too junior to sign me off.in essence although i was examined i wasn't admitted so the protocol maybe is easier to circumnavigate given discharge,to tell the truth i am better off away from the house of horror they have done so much harm to my loved ones in the past.
YES, SKISCHOOL, AND IN MY EXPERIENCE = "ALL ESTABLISHMENTS FROM HELL" - LEAST OF ALL - MEDICAL ONES ARE PRECISELY THAT , BECAUSE WE " ARE NOT " REALLY ALLOWED TO NAME THEM " ! AND SO THEIR FAULTS CONTINUE ...NOTICED FOLKS !!
I am definitely going to get Harry to magic you up a new keyboard Vittorio and we must not cast our net over every establishment as some of them offer first rate treatment within a very affordable pay as you go national insurance scheme and i still have faith in our trusty NHS, take care x
AH ! SUNSHINE ! ….DON'T TAKE MY " REPLY " TOO SERIOUSLY ! … - HAVE BEEN IN HOSPITAL 33 TIMES AT THE " ROYAL FREE" , LONDON , IN THE LAST TEN YEARS… = MARVELOUS CROWD THERE ! …- THEY SAY , " THAY ARE GOING TO NAME A WARD AFTER ME IF I TURN UP MUCH MORE " - CAN'T BE BAD EH !! ! AND YES , ONCE BEING TAKEN TO THE GENERAL HOSPITAL IN BARCELONA CENTRAL , WAS LEFT OUTSIDE THE MORGUE- OF ALL PLACES , WHILST THE PORTER , WHO LOOKED MORE ILL THAN I FELT , WENT OUT FOR " A QUICK FAG " !!- DON'T GET MUCH OF THAT WITH OUR NHS !!! " CARRY ON NHS !! …BLESS YOU !
I know Barcelona well and have fought off many a passing pickpocket and potential carjacker, still love the place but thank god i haven't had the pleasure of visiting their hospital yet. x
Well folks the action plan is agreed and we will stick with the 2 weeks referral to ENT and the endoscopy dept with a strapped on referral to SALT's to examine and resolve this swallowing difficulty,Dysphagia has 4 commonly know stages and i would rate myself at Stage 1 the most serious at the moment but i have gained a lot of invaluable knowledge guiding Cecilia through all 4 stages,so i shall use that knowledge to try to remain as stable as possible until the professionals are available.
Bloods have been taken and will be analysed for any potential culprit such as the nasty stuff but i think that is unlikely to be the cause,i have lost 3 kilos in a week and i am down to 49 today,i was going to recommend this crash diet to the more portly members of our dodgy club at a highly discounted rate but somehow i don't think i will get many takers.
Another chicken cup a soup with added chicken bovril lines the belly and you will soon be calling me Charles Atlas aka Ski's lol
Thank you all for your support it is much appreciated
Love Ski's and a fat Scruffinetta xxx
P,s fear not should things worsen i am advised to represent to A & E and ask for Mr Hagrid m.d as he's one of the better guys
I could almost cry. That this is considered care? I know you can take care of yourself but I am really quite concerned about you. If I had more motivation and self control than the wishy washy person that I am, I’d try your Skis Super Weight Loss Regime but I think I might keel over. After half an hour. Hopefully you don’t get so tiny that Scruffy thinks you’re a little mouse.
Is there anything you think you could eat that I can send you? I work in a grocery store ... 🍽
It looks pretty good as far as that kind of thing goes. I'm still lost for coherent words concerning your so called care. I was going to make some stupid comment about you could come and live with my chickens 🙄 We Don't have pureed fish and chips in the shop but if I send both to you they should be sufficiently soggy and dissolved by the time they reach you. 🐛 Let me know if you want me to send one of the new ewes to stamp on anyone's foot. It's something they're very good at 🐑
From Ewe to me,how kind,i am glad of that amazon order as i have just found my build up powder which one mixes with milk just won't go down so it's chicken soup for the rest of my life, maybe i shall roast it on Sundays and bbq it in the summer lol x
Breaking news, appointment now for Friday at Ent outpatients,i do believe that the Gp has managed to escalate matters so i must thank her for that intervention. more soup to celebrate lol xx
No my cheeky friend,i have the foodlink complete which you mix with milk that doesn't go down the hatch at the moment so i did a little research and it is recommended by macmillans in their cancer support group and i shall self finance as i am hoping it can be mixed with water and should add a little savoury delight even if it is chicken again lol xx
Somebody once told me that curry was dirty food for some reason,i think they were somewhat of a Fish and Chip fan and had never tasted foreign foods xx
I dont usually read long posts but I was glued to yours. I hope you are on the mend and apologise for laughing at your story. It cheared me up and felt I was reading faster and faster to read the next line. It was like a gripping novel I couldn't put down..please keep your entertaining posts coming I love them . On a lighter note I do hope you are feeling better and getting the correct treatment. xx Sheila xx
Thank you Sheila but i am yet to receive treatment but i now have an appt on Friday and after almost a week of little or no food i am mighty hungry but some soups i may be able to swallow are arriving tomorrow from my friend Mr Amazon x
Oh I do wish you well but you are so funny and made me laugh .hope your supply arrives from Amazon and you are able to tolerate the soups. Good luck for your appointment on Friday please keep us updated .
Hugs to you Skis ..... gentle ones bearing in mind how fragile you must be feeling right now! I'm so sorry you have to wait until Friday for an apt. The sooner you are well again the better. X
Must feel a very long time .... it does to me.😡 I was hoping you would be fast asleep . Hope too you get a call tomorrow saying they will see you sooner than Friday!!! X
I am so sorry that you have had to go through all this. Yours and other group members, humor, love, care and concern I am sure is a big dose of healing medicine in itself. I hope the issue gets sorted soon and it is not long before you can enjoy baked chicken and not just chicken soup. Best wishes from Oz. x
Thank you Illawarra, would you be so kind as to send us a few rays of Aussie sunshine to brighten up our dismal autumn oh and of course the odd baked chicken x
skischool no worries, some sunshine coming at you. Right now here in Oz many farmers would gladly share the sunshine for some rain. It is going to be one long and hot summer it seems.
Hi there, well guess what i have developed severe sickness & diahorea since Wednesday afternoon, but after your report don't think I'll be going to hospital. Just another problem to cope with hopefully its just one of those bugs that goes off after a few days. Only having water , feel shattered how about you ? Just realised I haven't ordered my prescription , no way I can walk over there to get it anyway. So as you see like yourself there is no let up.
Dear Katie,i am so sorry that you have got a bug,can you not ring the surgery and ensure that your prescription is fulfilled and delivered by a local pharmacy.
I am surviving but weight is dropping for fun this week and i am now clinically underweight yet again with a BMI of 17 according to my calculation as i can't even get my build up food in,but thankfully i have my ENT appt tomorrow.
If you can't get well i just hope you can get a little better in the next few days, rest up now my love. x
😟 I’m really sorry to know you can’t even eat your essence of chicken? 🐔 Thank goodness it’s Friday tomorrow, hopefully you’ll see someone who has some medical knowledge and common sense and actually do something for you, or get some process started anyway. My new old ewe who tips over a lot fell over today and couldn’t get up, when sheep go upside down they can’t get themselves the right way up, I managed to push all 100+ kgs of her enough that she could get herself back on her feet, and we exchanged a few knowing words about the cruel jokes life plays on us sometimes, but we keep getting back up. I was definitely thinking of you too, and wondering how you’re doing today. I hope tomorrow something will happen to help you get back up.
You are a kind and thoughtful and very funny person,i am sat on my put up bed awaiting the return of Scruff's then i will spend 6 hrs fretting anticipating the visit to the temple of pain where they can hopefully stand me up and make me slightly less sheepish,
I keep cancelling my reply to you. There is nothing I can say to make the dreaded wait any easier. I will be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on, when you can. 🐑
Hopefully Scruffy will be back from her nighttime meanderings soon so she can keep you company and you can both work on some cunning plans for emergency use to encourage the doctors to make sensible decisions. My sheep are still up for some foot squashing or head butting and can be very persuasive. They will be baaaing their support for you, except the upside down one who moos, she’s a bit confused about who she is I think, and loves chatting with the cows when they’re in an adjoining field. They seem equally interested in her, but I don’t know if that’s because they also think she’s a cow, or if they’ve just never met a mooing sheep before.
When I want to complain about Australia’s poor health care system i will come back to this thread. I’m absolutely shocked at how poorly the NHS seems to be running over there.
I won’t dare use public consultants here as it takes so long to see someone and when you get the appointment you’re rushed in and out. I’m currently having to pay private for cardiologist, endocrinologist, ENT, and paediatrician but public system for any hospital treatments for myself and my children. I wish I could afford private health care to use for hospital.
I hope the next two days go really fast for you.
Ps I love Harry Potter, I’d be disappointed to be seen by someone who looked like him only to end up being some what of a moron lol x
I will never decry the NHs in general and we are so lucky in the UK to have our revered system,it needs some serious tweeking and the day we all have to resort to private medicine is a day i hope never to see.
But i am sorry for your situation and i hope you can get the best treatment possible and to that extent i am sending A,N other wizard complete with wand to help you out. x
Absolutely, we are so very lucky in many ways compared to others who do not have option for free or low cost heath care. I do worry that Australia will end up like that one day and that will be a very sad day indeed.
I’ve had so many visits to emergency this year and a couple of times for my children as well I could not imagine having to pay on top of the illness that took us there etc
I believe one of the terms and conditions of the dodgy site is not to name and shame individuals and that could well extend to hospitals and gp's practises so i tread carefully and anyway this is just a hopefully amusing rant against the system so lets all chill a bit.
Hi Skis I hope the GP can rush through an appointment for a nice man/ person with a laryngoscope to see ASAP what’s going on. Poor you . It must be very exhausting. One of our Patients ( just sorted)has just done 4 weeks living on milky coffee whilst awaiting a NHS ENT appointment . UNBELIEVABLE!!
Does ice water help any?
Hope ‘normality ‘returns soon for you and scruffs .🤞🤞🤞💐💐💐Cx
Dear Chrisko you know your onions well and i am anticipating meeting Larry some time on Friday morning,a first time for me but i imagine nobody but a fool would try to shove Mr endy down my throat at this present time, not looking forward to it and i am afraid they may well discover you know what given the gradual build up but i hope it's not that and i don't have to become Dalek Ski's.
You are clever and yes sips of cold ,gaseous is best as you know, liquids do help and go down far better than milk which just sticks to the surface.I hope your are well now and that the 2 furry maniacs are behaving.
Two rug rats as pampered as ever thanks. Hopefully Mr Larry will choose to go the nasal route🤞good luck in getting it sorted and back to real food. Hope you n scruffs are sharing a tuna sandwich soon 😘
Quick update for the knowledgeable one,Endoscopy rang me today and invited me for a wee gastroscopy tomorrow, after much conversation with the nurse explaining that a rod down to my small intestines was not the best options at the moment as with the blockage or restriction they could damage my esophagus by trying i managed to persuade her to talk to the teams consultant and she rang me back saying he totally agreed with my action plan of Larry first with great care so thank goodness common sense now prevails x
I was just reading a news headline on the BBC about a Mysterious Brainless Blob. I thought, oh they've met that doctor too? Hopefully you see someone less blob-like today. And definitely less brainless (or is that a double negative?) Thinking of you today 🐑
Skis, you must have been exhausted after.a day like that. Puts one off from going for help, it is such an effort and i f you don't feel well looked after you wonder if its worth it. Yes, you will get the endoscopy if you can manage the trip. Hope your gp offers some help.
Chicken soup good for the soul !according to a famous author.
Hope the biopsy’s come back ok. Strange thing.. someone I know had a strange swallowing problem and couldn’t get to the bottom of it, lived on soup and milky coffee for ages . After a few months it went .It has recently returned but she manages to eat/ suck crisps🤷♀️ She thinks hers came on after a frightening choking/ coughing bout she had ages ago.
Hope you get to the bottom of it soon Skis so you can enjoy non beige grub. Bet scruffy is enjoying all the good stuff then .Cx
