Haemophilus

my consultant has requested that my doctor gives me a haemophilus immmunisation

has any one any idea why and has any one had one

Hi I didn't know there was one. I was colonised with Haemophilis Influenzae couple of years ago which is under control with antibiotic treatment.

I had one at the same time as my second Pneumonia jab. There isn't actually a jab for it so they gave me this which is usually for children.

Interesting. I thought there was a jab for one strain of this bug but not the one that we most commonly get?

I’ve had this twice. I think the second time was because a blood test showed I didn’t have the immunity to it. The first one was after I was first diagnosed with Bronchiectasis.

As far as i know theres not one for adults. I was recently colonised with it but azythromycin taken for 9 months have erradicated it. Feel much better in myself now. Karen. Xxx
