I don't really know anything about this but it surely shouldn't be making you miserable and should be helping matters. I expect you'll get some helpful replies unlike mine, but I just wanted to wish you all the best. Thinking of you and I hope things start to improve for you soon 💐

Hi, I'm probably a mile off the mark but I use Carbocisteine to loosen the mucus and a Flutter device to release/move the mucus.

Some seem to be able to get these on the postcode lottery NHS whilst others have to buy them. Link: amzn.to/2lZncDl - be aware that this is the first one I found - there are lots cheaper and just as good.

Best wishes

Hi carolg1 do u have an ENT doctor? Maybe your sinuses are blocked and that’s causing your problems. A ct scan of your sinuses would show up if this is the case and can b corrected. X

I’ve suffered with this for years. Sinuses are often start of chest infection. I’ve had my sinuses washed out twice and they widen the tubes. Last time certainly helped. I assume you are using a sinus rinse? I hope you get some relief soon x

Hi monks what does having your sinuses washed out entail and widening because I’m sure this is what I need, things have got a little better since I’ve been doing a couple of sinuses rinses myself but still feels really blocked deep down , thanks for replying xx

I hope this explains it without scaring you off! Mine were done under general anaesthetic so you don’t know anything about it. Nose feels blocked for a week or so afterwards as they don’t like you to blow your nose.

You should definitely try using neilmed sinus rinse daily. I also use nasonex daily only available on prescription. I was also prescribed flixonase to use daily. You will need to have a ct scan on your sinuses to show they are blocked. I think you would need to show your ENT doc that you are rinsing daily and still uncomfortable to be taken seriously enough. Steam inhalers can also help. I use a nebuliser daily for antibiotics and steroids as I have pseudomonas(found during last sinus wash). This has helped keep mine clear. Good luck. X

Hi Carolg, when I first begin to sneeze and "stop up" from excess mucus, I begin eating fresh pineapple, and it works to stop the mucus production. Pineapple contains Bromelain, which is used in some prescribed medications. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory prior to surgery to reduce swelling. Hope this helps. J.
