Help at last

Hi everyone have not been on here for along time and the last time was when I posted that my husband Mike had been told that the consultant could offer no more treatment Mike has advanced asbestosis we were not impressed but realised that he did not help anyway so we just went on with Mike really getting breathless so I made up my mind to move house a very hard call as we loved it and what i had done to garden but realised we needed a bungalow and also needed to get away from that hospital and consultant. Moving was very hard as had to do it my self as Mike could not help just to unwell we moved up higher to Co Donegal and that's when things changed we went under Letterkenny hospital and they are simply wonderful the service is 1st class and they are helping him his now got oxygen 5 litres in day and he has it at night as well he has been monitered even coming to our house from feeling totally abandoned we feel so much more positive and we also have a really lovely garden where we moved to with a wood and now Mike can walk round with his portable oxygen and enjoy it.Photo of my garden

Oh wow moocow66 . This is very wonderful news to read. I can't tell you how nice it is to know you are both in a better, happier, more hopeful place. And your garden has lifted my spirits. I think it always pays to get a fresh pair of eyes looking at our situation medical wise. It's obvious Letterkenny hospital took the time to really assess the situation and give it all they've got. And yes as Mike is proving, even life with oxygen can be good! 😃😁😊🎶

Sending you both very good wishes and thank you for sharing. 🍀

Hi moocow, I love your name! I was just reading your previous post about the terrible treatment and attitude from your other consultant. It is incredibly hard to leave a house you love but it seems you so made the right decision. It's so good to know your husband is getting better care now. And rightly so. And it's great he can enjoy that almost unbelievably beautiful garden 😊 Best wishes to you both.

I do love reading good news and this seems like a heaven sent move for you both. To live in such a beautiful place and get such good treatment is a win win situation, nice clean air, a bungalow so no stress and a magnificent garden, you must have a guardian angel looking over you. Well done, you have climbed a mountain and got to the top! Very brave to move house but it has been so worthwhile. We have lived in bungalows most of our married life, 63 years, and find them ideal. Your garden reminded me of ours, perfect for just a few steps out in the fresh air when you need a change from that armchair. Best wishes to you and your husband. Love Iris x

So very pleased for you both. Wow... what a change. I would call it postcode lottery except that you don’t have postcodes in Ireland.

Hi moocow what a difference things can make when you decide to take action yourself , I understand moving must be very difficult but when it comes to your other half s health youv done him proud, new home, new Dr new gorgeous garden 👌 it’s so great to hear Mike now has oxygen he must feel even a little better as every breath counts. I used to think of oxygen and the thought of being on it terrified me but that was way back now iv read how it’s really helping others it great. I hope you both enjoy the new home and the garden and Mike enjoys his oxygen big (((( hugs )))) to you both 🌺🍄🌷🥀🌾

Congratulations on your move. We moved 3 years ago so I understand how difficult in can be. I am so pleased that it has been positive for you and that you are finally getting the help you deserve. The garden looks great. I am intrigued by the idea of the woods. Sounds wonderful. Enjoy.
