Feeling really happy and pleased with my new consultant. He listened to me when i said I felt the powder inhaler was clogging my lungs. He prescribed my spiolto, which is working wonders and went on long walk today with no tight chest or feeling breathless...
And also got new appointment in 10 days for ct scan....happy days, oh and the sun is out xxxx

Thats the way i myself went about finding which doctors near me has what they call a Respiratory clinic. On Monday. So they now of me and my COPD. just need to get a referral from my gp now. Then all will be ready for after my pacemaker fitting next month for me to kick on with enjoying life BRIAN
That is fantastic news, I bet you can't wait to get home to your comforts and chom....wishing you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing your village progress xxx
Apologies if Iβm intruding on this conversation but I couldnβt help notice you saying you might be home next Monday. That is such good news! I will pray that this happens. I donβt know why Iβm so excited! If Iβm this excited you must be ecstatic! It must mean the doctors are happy with your progress. Hopefully the pain will ease a bit soon. Are you able to eat solid food again now? I hope your recovery continues to progress steadily so that you can soon be back with Chom in your own home π
I am indeed happy to go home, and yes I ate solids the day after my intubation tube was removed. They are indeed very pleased with my progress and so am I ! Thank you so much for your kindness. I will be recuperating but starting my village slowly and surely when I can. I am very eager to get back to my routine and of course my lovely Chom. I hope the heatwave is not bad for you and the sheep. Take care. xx βπ
The heatwave didn't reach here and now it feels decidedly autumnal. I might go away for a while to get away from things and visit my brother in Scandinavia, to get some warmer weather and sunshine. There never seems to be a good time to leave my sheep and with the old ewes arriving soon this probably isn't the greatest time either. I can sympathize with how much you must be missing Chom. He'll be so happy to see you again too π
It is always good to have a change of scene and sunshine is a tonic. I think that is a wonderful idea Huff. I know you have your sheep taken care of when you go and yes, there will always be some obstacle as to why we "can't". Now is a good a time as there ever will be Huff. xx βββ
Thats fantastic, Skatergirl1. Nice to have someone who listens, Makes all the difference. And you feel better for just being listened to. Send the pics of you skating soon lol. So pleased for you. BRIAN
I take Spiriva a little tablet which I inhale with a device. This is also called Tiotropium ( bet I spelt that wrong )which is same as yours. Been on it for 10yrs would not be without it x Sheila
My doctor didn't want to know when I kept saying I felt my powder Iinhaler was making me worse....felt my lungs were clogged up...so stopped using it. But this one is a game changer it feels like I can breather deeper xx. Ask you doctor about it xx
That is fantastic news Skategirl I'm really pleased for you..It's great that someone finally listened to you, fingers crossed you will start to feel better XX
I'mwondering if the Spiolto would help me..My inhalers don't seem to be helping me much now,I have been on steroids and antibiotics but I still don't feel 100%.I have an appointment for the nurse tomorrow so will mention to her about the new inhaler you said you get xx
Great news to hear. So glad you are feeling better.
Don't ever hear much about Spiolto so pleased that you're finding it so effective. It's great when the medication really seems to make a lot of difference.
It is so much better than my last one ....I kept telling the doctor is wasn't working and made my chest worse, bit this one so far is great...thank you x
I suffered the same "Paradoxic" effect you did from both Spirivia & Tiotropium, & the same as you, neither Nurse nor GP took any notice. Back in 2018 when diagnosed with Emphysema, the Consultant wrote: "I suggested commencing him on a LAMA for the time being starting as the Tiotropium or Aclidinium. In the future he may benefit from having a LABA addition".
Suffice to say, haven't heard anything since from him either. Having said that, since coming here & discovering 'NAC', I've not looked back, only occasionally using Ventolin if feeling a little tight.
BTW, you look delightful in your picture, tempting me to use it as a screen backdrop
Haha...that's a lovely thing to say!! But I would hate to break your computer screen lol x. Must admit you have lost me...I don't understand initials...LAMA LABA but glad youve got the NAC xxx
