Hi & welcome Bingo88 :)

Sorry to hear you feel so poorly - hopefully you'll get some answers soon.

If it's any comfort, my 93 year old mother in law had a pacemaker fitted last week to treat an erratic heartbeat & already feels so much better.

Best wishes

Thanks for your reassurance. Was feeling positive. But this copd diagnosis. Has left me deflated at present. But keeping positive

Hopefully as things get dealt with you’ll feel better & positive again - it’s testing when it’s one thing after another & often difficult to be optimistic but I’m sure you’ll get there.

Thank you will do. Got to get in the docs on Monday. After he has seen results to see where we go. Have read about Zephyr Valve. Which is on the nhs now. But cant see how successful it is. Only been used last 2 years i believe

I too, needed a pacemaker and defibrillator and doc explained that another cardiac incident would mean my demise. When I woke up I was able to take full deep breaths, sleep like a baby, walk without huffing and puffing and generally was almost like a new person. I too have asthma and copd. No lung cancer concerns yet but never smoked. Continue your research but until your surgery you will be a ticking time bomb; is what all the docs warned me. Make the appointment for your family to ask questions and you may find all of the reasons to go ahead. Good luck and God bless.

Thank you so much. I only need a pacemaker because my resting heartbeat is 40. When it should be 80. Was happy about that prolonging my life. But yesterdays copd diagnosis has worried me

I was all set to have a Pace and Ablate but that has now been shelved due to IPAH and it was considered it could be adverse for me to have? I also have COPD and RLD plus a few other things to keep the docs busy. ;)

Be Well

Thanks for your reply. Christina 1947. Looking forwards now thanks. Went to docs after a cough also left me a bit breathless. Was checked over and found my resting heartbeat was only 40. So went off to hospital. Had ecg. And seen Cardiologist within 1 hr. Told i needed a pacemaker. On leaving the docs made appoint for spiro test. Which was last Wednesday. To be told i have a copd. Seen doctor yesterday. Been told my copd is very bad for 1st diagnosis. Given me a Relvar Ellipta. To help. Said the pacemaker will help too. Hope you have a nice weekend
