Also I have now found out that taking two puffs of Salbutamol 20 mins before the Fostair shortly before going to bed prevents problems with the CPAP.
As the sleep clinic does not deal with inhalers and the Resp. nurse knows nothing about CPAPs I have to try to sort out problems myself
A nurse at Asthma UK advised me to take the Salbutamol and this has resolved the problem I have had for years
The machine I use is a Automatic CPAP and changes the pressure as it thinks is required.
The trouble is that it does not seem to be able to recognize the difference between flow limitations caused by Apnea or COPD. Increasing the pressure helps Apnea but does not help COPD and possibly makes it worse.
For about 5 years my 95% pressure have been up to 19.98 but since using the Salbutamol before my Fostair Nexthaler my 95% pressures have dropped to about 17.5
