Hello, I am very grateful for all the support you have shown and I hope I will not bother you because I want to ask whether the upper back pain and the ribs is associated with emphysema and has any of you suffered from it?

Pain
I have upper back pain not sure why but I thought it was muscle related but I dont know..
Probably muscle related. Do you belly breathe/breathe in through your nose? A lot of mouth breathers tend to tend to chest breath and hunch up there shoulders, with the extra effort to breath then that can cause muscle strain.
Hi joujou9, i suffer back and rib pain associated with my flare ups and due to clearance techniques for bronchiectasis it seems like it could be caused by straining the muscles or an infection brewing in my case
I get rib pain when I don't use my blue inhaler before doing something that gets me breathing deeply. My lungs try to force the little intercostal muscles between the ribs to move further than they can go, and they complain. To massage, place three fingertips on the sore point and gently rotate them. If it's not in a place you can do that, use a hard ball: slide it down between your back and a chair or sofa back, and move gently around so that it massages the sore place. All the best.
Yes I have it is related to emphysema but it normally means you have an infection, so a trip to your doctor is advisable . Good luck
I have upper back pain and ribs sometimes, I did think it’s all connected. Xx
