So i made it to the Breatheasy club, only to find it was their AGM. Sadly it is a very small number of very nice people who attend. So i will still be looking to all you wonderful folks for help & advice 😘

Oh well done. Shame it was their AGM, I hope it hasn't put you off. Probably the worst possible time for a newbie to start, but at least it will have broken the ice for making the next visit more enjoyable. 😉

Hi V, It's me again. Did they not have an Exercise Class? this is what I thought you would have preferred, Maybe more Enquiries to be made. As I said in your last Post, I go to mine. we also have AGM meetings once a month, Basicly to plan for Speakers, Outings, BLF. We created our Exercise Class which is very Popular twice a week. Not all Members come to the AGM meetings more interested in exercise. It is worth looking into other Breathe Easy Groups in your Area. Good Luck Hun. Hugs. C. xxxx

Hello, i was a little disappointed, it seems that the 8 people there are the regulars! I still work, so couldn’t go on their Thurs walk, but i really don’t think they do many outings etc.

It isn’t on again until Sept, will go again, just to give it a fair chance.

I live in Milton Keynes if anyone knows of anything else 😁

If the group’s so small perhaps you could get in there and help it grow? We started small 16 years ago and now have well over 100 members (though fortunately they can’t all come each month), 2 exercise classes a week etc. More importantly we’ve all learned so much and helped so many people. Perhaps there’s a nurse who can help? BLF will say this is the secret to success and I agree. Can you contact your CCG to get help. BLF will give advice too. There must be a lot of people in MK who need such a group. I apologise if you’re toopoorly to do much but your support alone might make a difference.

Good morning, thankyou for your reply, has certainly got me thinking. I am so lucky to be quite well, still working etc. Maybe i could use some spare time to help with the numbers & with no disrespect to anyone but there must be people of my age that would like to get advice & support.

Have a good day Vx

Absolutely! We had a committee meeting yesterday and discussed the feeling that our group is losing its mojo. One of the reasons no doubt is that those of us running it are 16 years older. Good luck with it.

Our local BreatheEasy group is housed in our main surgery and one pf the PR physios helps to run it.

Glad to hear you will still be questioning us, but do stick with the breatheasy group as there are to be changes in the care for respiratory patients in the new NHS future plans which they may find out before I do. Good luck with the group.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in your post vee, my PR finishes next week. I have travelled to sibsey for the sessions, but what are breathe easy clubs I'm pretty sure they dont follow on here. How can I find out. Jane

Look under ‘support for you’ on the BLF website to see if there’s one near you. They’re support groups for people with lung diseases and, as one of our group said, ‘like gold dust’ , giving information and friendship.
