If you need help with forms etc contact your local Citizen's Advice Bureau or Age UK

Unfortunately over 65 are not able to apply for a disability benefit except Attendance Allowance. When completing the form be blunt as to what help you need, even the smallest thing. Send copies of consultant letters as well as any assessment by Physio or Occupationl Therapist . I just helped Aunt get it. Form is quite long but the response time is very good, about 6 weeks. If not sure about filling in form perhaps get someone like Age UK to come to see you. They will also check entitlement for any other benefits. Good luck

Hi,

Certainly worth applying. Doesn’t matter what you have worked for if your disabled due to lung disease apply👍

I was working but copd got worse. I applied for universal credit as o income also applied for pip which we used some of it towards a mobility car which comes in handy.the garage are good with advice on right car for you.. do you have to have to have help at home with washing cooking etc. My husband applied to be my carer as I have difficulty getting from a to b without struggling. Speak to cab or speak to admin on this website they are very helpful. I have to use oxygen inhalers and I know there are people out there that can help. My dad had a stroke 2 years ago he was allowed to apply for pip. Which helps them plus they put a stairlift I to help plus s small shower room

But that may go on area you live in so areas say no to wet rooms downstairs but always worth asking. Hope goes well

It depends on your age. PIP has mobility part to it if you're 65 or over then it is attendance allowance. That doesnt have mobility im afraid.

All other benefits are means tested so they would be affected by your income and savings.
