Wishful Thinking.

β€’42 Replies

It is a shame they cannot find

For COPD a cure.

That involves less exercise

Instead of saying more.

When Inhalers and those tablets

Would no longer play a part.

Or eating lots of green stuff

That only makes you ****

Fish and chips might do us good

And ice cream after that.

Because it's fighting COPD

It wouldn't make us fat.

But what's the point of wishing,

It's never going to be.

We'd better stick with what we've got

Another cup of tea?

As usual Don you've hit the mark, much as fish and chips and ice cream do. πŸ˜πŸ‘

There nothing that does more to please, than fish and chips with mushy peas. 😎

If that's a self portrait Master Po it's time you got a haircut?:)

Enjoy that cuppa before you and Midge head for the beach, Don't forget to Don the knotted handkerchief.

Grasshopper and a warmish moggie .X

β€’ in reply toskischool

You know it's not a self portrait from my avatar and isn't it time you posted a photo of yourself so we will recognise you if we ever meet? Knotted hankies are for emergencies when you find yourself hatless. I still have the hat that I wrote about a couple of years ago. πŸ™‚

Keep that moggie cool, she can't take her fur coat off.

Morning Mr.D and I'm smiling because it is so very true. COPD requires us to be almost saintly in our choices like in your rhyme today. So I'm in agreement with your idea of having a cup of tea, whilst looking at my exercise bike, box of meds and today's lunch of salad!

Give me Fish and chips every time th COPD will have to wait !!!!!

IN MY DREAMS 😀

Don, there is a cure. I fought this horrible situation from 1973 to 2014. My beautiful wife saved me.

I now do no meds to combat it.

Consumption in moderation of everything you injest. Food, exercise, and if married sex. Eating fruit and light after five PM. Swimming and tred mill in morning and do it not think it. She got me to the Mojave desert in California. Dried my way of life. Hysmetin, from New Zealand, within three months of taking my lungs came back. Alongside the moderate change in everything I do has bought me back at 68. We all can't move to the desert, bother we all can take our time and life back. It worked for me.

I wish I’d read your message 50 years ago Jeffro, I’ve left it too late for me but I hope others will take note. Well done you. πŸ‘πŸ˜€

Interesting Jeffro, what is Hysmetin, tried to look it up but couldnt find anything. Totally agree that it is the way you live your life and everything in moderation, so glad you are fit and well at 68 x

Me too,

unable to trace a word remotely close to that.

Anyone else had better success tracing it please? Thx.

Many thanks. Certainly worth reading up on albeit we have to fly to NZ to get it!!, perhaps we could get group discount!!

Have a cool weekend.

Good wishes

What I want to know is, why does everything good taste bad and everything bad taste good? Is this one of the Great Cosmic Jokes? How cruel is that ☹️

β€’ in reply toHungryHufflepuff

It all goes back to when Eve nicked an apple when Adam wasn't looking. She blamed some poor snake, nowt to do with us blokes really, but we've been paying for it ever since. πŸ™

You might be ingesting a considerable amount of plastic Cap'n with your fish of course - nothing has been mentioned about potato yet!

β€’ in reply tomajji

I thought we've been provided with a very efficient way of disposing stuff we ingest but don't require.

majji profile image
majjiβ€’ in reply to

Hmm - I am not sure about the efficiency of disposal - efficiency would involve (in my book) a pre-packaged item smelling of perfume which one could post off to that great latrine in the sky using free stamps ;-) Oh and Tetley Redbush Tea contains no caffeine and is delicious.

Ha ha Don. I think tea isn't that good for you coz of the caffeine. Just munch your green veg instead and drink water! :D xx

I notice some fish and chip shops are using those. You get smaller chips with lots of crispy bits, I like those. πŸ™‚

I reckon you should get all these poems together and publish a book. Have a super weekend jane

β€’ in reply tochubby2x22

It's been suggested before, Jane, but now they are scattered all over the site and under three different names so it would be a mammoth task collecting them all together. In any case there's loads from other posters of equal merit so it's best to just encourage people to go back and search and see what a wonderful place this is.

I propose that SirSki be awarded the chance to search for those missing odes Cap'n.

(Can a cat be a steed? Or does that only apply to horses? If you say steed lots of times it starts to sound odd and loses its meaning. Steed. Steeeeeed.) 🐴

majji profile image

On any other site it would apply to horses only HH however on here I don't think anyone would concern themselves overly much :-)

Unable to sleep at 02.30 hrs i awaken to find a nightmare scenario where i am summoned to search for the holy grail of the Masters lost words but unlike the black night in the monty python sketch i freely admit that i am legless, armless and totally incapable of carrying out the requested duties,i lay down my weapon and rest my case.buenas noches mis amigos. :) zzz

majji profile image
majjiβ€’ in reply toskischool

Would the leglessness be due to imbibing a little too much SirSki?

skischool profile image
skischoolβ€’ in reply tomajji

Probably not imbibing enough my dear,we must all ensure we down enough alcohol during these warm evenings,er sorry that word was supposed to be fluids, just a slight deviation from the normal advice. :) x

I have managed to refrain from using the word 'deviant' in any way shape or form Oh Mighty SirSki but it has been something of a struggle ;-)
