New Hat.

I know that Midge often looked at me

When I was wearing my hat.

And wondered why wore on my head

Such a tasty morsel as that.

And so it was that my straw hat

Had a hole getting bigger and bigger

Until it finally reached the stage

Where people began to snigger.

So Scarborough is the place to go,

To get a hat with style.

A line of shops down Foreshore Street

That must stretch for a mile.

And there it was looking just the job

I said you must be mine.

A bit expensive I thought

At four pounds ninety-nine! (Well I am in Yorkshire.)

You can buy a new Rolex watch for a fiver in Scarborough. I love those tatty multi-coloured seaside shops, must say something about my character I suppose :-o

Scarborough never seems to changed much over the last fifty years, unlike my home town of Southport which is now completely different.

Looking dapper young man 😊

Very nice too!

Morning Don, I have a cracking mod style trilby, but don't wear it anywhere near as much as I thought I would when I bought it. Never go anywhere posh enough haha! 😂

Morning Brisara, I paid nearly £100 for a Panama hat some years ago which sits unused on the top of the wardrobe. I've numerous under a fiver ones since. I never wore a hat much until I got a bit of skin cancer on my baldy head, now I'm rarely without. I'm well pass the age of wondering whether a place thinks it's posh or not. Not posh places are usually far more interesting I find. 😉🚐

Panama hat - now you're talking 😎

We went for a drive the other day to a place called Dyserth in North Wales, it has some beautiful scenery and is well worth a visit if you're ever driving in that area.

Brian :)
