Not like dear old Granddads
While sitting on the beach
With their collar tie and jacket on

We'd look on in despair
But not our dear old Granddad
He's got his umbrella there!
Oh Where is this Vision,
not just in my Head
I'll wait for Dear Don
to Create it with a Sun Bed.

Ne'er cast a clout till May be out' but don’t discard your summer bloomers I recall the next line. I remember those days so well. The way we kids were dressed to go to the beach. I have a photo of me in a formal Whitsuntide suit with a ‘follow me lad’ hat on and my sister’s friends little brother had formal suit with short trousers.

The plural is confusing as you then refer to "he's got his" so you would appear to be talking about just one - also which item of clothing are you planning to start with ? Leaving off? Followed by?

I started off referring to just one granddad then remembered the trouble I had with people thinking I was talking about me and my own grandfather. My father’s father never took me to the beach and my mother’s father died before I was born. So I tried to make it relate everybody's granddad. Stewth! Isn’t it time you went to bed? 🤪

Several of those are just showing up as empty squares on my iPad. I think I need to update it. Sometimes some of the emojis people post here just show up as empty squares or a square with an X in. Also I notice that I post something on my iPad then later see it on my phone, or vice versa, and it’s substituted the emoji for something else, especially with the facial expression ones. What with that and autocorrect, I’m always concerned I’m going to insult or offend everyone 🤫
