Coughing up thick green mucus. Infectious to my elderly clients?

Good morning. I’ve awoken with an extension to what I was hoping was allergies. It’s now in my chest and I’m coughing up thick green mucus. I work with the elderly. Shall I get cover for today or until symptoms cease?

It depends if it started with a virus which you have probably already passed on. Thick green mucus is a sign of an opportunistic bacterial infection following a virus. So now you need antibiotics and a rest unril you are better
