Hello, Please can anyone recommend a portable ECG monitor that will actually pick up and tell me if i'm in Afib. Im extremely confused as to whether im in Afib or not. Its been picked up on a 7 day tape that I had an episode of Afib but it was only for 30 seconds so they havn't taken it very serious. I'm having lots of strange episodes in my heart and I come over feeling very unwell when it happens. 4 years ago I had a Pulmonary Embolism for no reason at all, they never did find a cause and i'm now wondering if the afib could have caused it? I need something that will actually tell me '' YOU ARE IN AFIB'' simple and clearly. But I don't want to spend a fortune. I was told an Emay is a good one, also Kardia but that is £100 plus. Any idea's anyone please

Hi Honeybea22,
A lot of quite cheap blood pressure machines will detect AF. I know they work as I use to take my mother's blood pressure and it would show the sign that she had AF. I got my blood pressure machine from Lidls. It was £14.99.
Hope this helps.
Take your own pulse and feel how it is normally . . . so you know. If you think you are in a-fib T a later date your pulse will be very very rapid. Probably won’t be able to count the beats. Ask somebody how to take your own pulse if you don’t know how.
I know this was from quite awhile back but I believe the Apple Watch will, but you could confirm that with Apple.
