Hi Everyone ive recently been diagnosed with copd and heart bkockages.but also had Scoliosis ( curvature of the spine) since i was around 10yrs.i live my job and work as many hours as i can as it helps my back pain.but with all the new health issues.im stressed

Work not very helpful as im on morphine im not allowed it at work can anyone tell me if my employer has any duty off care to workforce by supplying a licked cupboard for me so i can at least have my breakthrough painkillers im so confused right now ive worked with individuals with various disabilities for nearly 30 yrs and apparently im classed as disabled not that its any problem just dont know where i stand regarding work.

Consult your union about this as they will have all the information about the legal aspects of employing people with disabilities. If you don’t have a union, join one. Re the morphine - ask your prescriber if you can change to the sustained release version. It lasts for 12 hours so you shouldn’t need a locked cupboard if you take the drug before you go to work.

Hi I would get some support from ypur local disability advice project/ CAB. You can also get a work based assessment through OT which should sort out the locked cupboard, an appropriate chair etc. I know its all a bit daunting but you should be able to get some support to help you xx Good luck, let us know how you get on x🐝
