We will probably have quite a few families of swans, ducks, geese and grebes milling around the boat waiting to be fed next week. They will tap on the hull with their beaks in the mornings, if you don't get up with the sun like they do.
Hey 2g , have a great time on the boat next week and dont forget to post a picture of the boat so we can all see. Time flies, doesnt seem 5 minutes ago you told us about this trip x
Going to go from Southampton via Oxford and across country to Norfolk, thus avoiding the London air pollution, I don't want to start on a low note breathing wise after being stuck in traffic on the M25. It will take longer but not worried about that, it's a holiday, leaving the rat race behind and we will actually start sailing off early Sunday morning. Sat night will be a meal in the local village pub at Upton, the pub is owned by the village itself as a Community Interest Company.
Very wise to avoid these problems, and as you say its a holiday. The pub sounds interesting, never heard of a village owning a pub, what a great idea. It will be an eventful start, enjoy every minute x
Enjoy the jolly 2g lunch soon when we are not caught up in the world of dogs cats and you with work xx
Sounds idyllic, 2greys....ENJOY! And such a good plan to avoid pollution during your journey. A while ago I came across your account on here of you first (?) sailing trip, complete with adventures and pub meals. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Maybe youβll find time to drop us a few notes on this one. But focus on your hols, youβve earned them!
Whilst I am away, perhaps you might like the account of our second visit a few months later, October half-term.
Iβll look it up. Sounds like a bit more good bedtime reading....then I go to sleep, imagining Iβve been there and done it all myself. My uncle had a yacht harboured in N Wales. On treat days, we went mackerel fishing. I remember all the sounds, sights and smells....π₯°
Beautiful, I feel I can reach in and stroke him/her
Ooh how gorgeous, wonderful pic yet again, Thanks for sharing.

Thatβs an amazing photo. It looks like you must have been floating on the water to take it. π¦ π
Aaw so beautiful, thanks for making me smile x
Awwww How beautiful! You've captured this brave little one perfectly, but I'm sure Mum and/or Dad would be there in a wing-beat if it let out a cry...? ππ₯°π₯°π₯°
Thanks Hopalong that's why I was laying on the ground behind a gorse bush to take it πππππ
Wise move, and suffering for your art, but your efforts certainly pay off. π
I'm not suffering I get a rest on a blanket and eat my lunch while I'm there ...job packed lunch as a dog walker xxx
Can't fault it! ππ
What a darling. Lucky Mum and Dad didn't spot you
How to win over the parents!
Dear Blackbird6,
What a Beautiful picture you, really did, 'Capture' this well. One small point, I know that I'm being Pedantic here, but it HAS to be a 'Baby' Cygnet- by definition- Sorry! I'll Shut Up now....Once again Lovely Picture.
Warmest Wishes

Well many thanks for pointing out lack of punctuation in my post.
Thankyou also for your compliment on the taking of said cygnet.
Just to point out to you there is a lot of capital letters in your own post that aren't at all necessary in the places you have placed them.
Have a wonderful weekend ππ
Dear Blackbird6,
Yes, you ARE Right, guilty as 'Charged'.....I DO tend to use Too Many CAPITALS! Mind you, jokes apart, surely better that way than the 'Tendency', these days, to just leave the punctuation out altogether! I had a friend, some years back, who used this 'Text Speak' (deliberate capitals there), in other words just left lttrs (letters), mainly Vowels completely out- very strange! Even the names of shops, and so on, seem to be 'Capital' less.
As I said definitely 'Guilty As Charged', On The Capital Issue.....At least we don't have 'Capital Punishment' any more, I would be 'For the Chop'!
Thanks for the Fun
AndrewT
Morning
I have never been one for punctuation unless I am asking a question then I will leave one of these. ?
I know where capitals go at the beginning of a sentence at the the start of somones name or that of a city.
I know at the end of a sentence you leave one of these . Full stop.
As for vowels A E I O U the only time they come in order of any one word and that word is FACETIOUS which I hasten to add I am not.
I am not a scholar of any sort and I am very happy with the way i type write or speak.
So please if your going to educate anyone never assume they dont know already just because of how its typed or written .
You know that word assume I have never liked because it makes an
ASS out of U and ME .
Capitals above for effect ππππ
Thanks for the fun ππ
Stunning!
