flem in throat

I stopped smoking on January 1st this year and have not found it too hard except for the flem stuck in my throat. I have come to the conclusion with everyones help and feedback and visits to docs that it is post natal drip. I have carbosistien and lansoprazole but nothing helps. my doc suggested getting some kind of salt thing off amazon and I cant remember what it was. any suggestions please.xxx

Neilson Nasal Rinse I think. You can also get the sachets of saline to go with it.

There's also a product you can get in chemists of some supermarkets in different sizes. Sterimed, in a blue & white container, it's sterile sea water. Might be an idea to try a small size of this yo see if the saline suits you befor the expense of the other kit. Oh it might be Sterimar not Sterimed!

Did you see I edited in that it might be Sterimar? Good luck. P

Himalayan salt inhaler. I have one and fingers it loosens Fleming I also use aerosure breather which also helps. Check them out on the net. You could also look up buteyko breathing exercises. A lot to look up but I found they all help in their own way. Good health x

I started using a Himalayan salt pot about a week ago. It has changed my life. I have post nasal drip and found myself with rivers of phlegm and coughing. If I took half a paracetamol it would stop the coughing in about 20 mins then last about 4 hours followed my congestion as it dried everything up. They cost about £9 on eBay or amazon. I breathe on it about 3-4 times a day for about 10 mins, when I feel congestion. The phlegm comes up then really easily. I was always very s.o.b. Due to the congestion, but now my chest feels clear. I can walk a bit faster and not quite so short of breath.( am on ambulatory oxygen) I have even tackled short walks ( night visit to Loo) without the oxygen. I have tried a netti pot to rinse sinuses which helped a bit and my gp gives me sterimar which again helps but the salt pot seems to have changed my life

Good luck

The Himalayan salt inhaler pipe.i got one off amazon and find it is working well.i also quit smoking and had the same trouble with phlegm.its not all gone, but it hasn't,t been very long for me.don,t shake the pipe before you inhale.i did and it caused some bleeding.i stopped for a few days and am now back on it.working good now.i also got a natural essential oil diffuser and use euclyptus oil in it at night in bedroom.helps also.

Could be a Himalayan salt pipe or a netty pot (no, not a toilet. 😂😂😂😂) to rinse your sinuses.

Have you been taught the breathing exercises to get rid of mucus and phlegm?
