I am baffled by this illness COPD I have had no voice for weeks to be told to take Gaviscon for 6 weeks by ENT im already taking 8omg of esomeprazole a day went back to them Monday to be told its reflux although no better lol I also had a scan and went to my lung specialist to see if I would be suited to lung reduction he said it was mild emphysemia my out of breath issues were narrowed airways so referred me back to Rehab so im not sure if I am stage 4 now ? He also said im not ready for the op yet im baffled has according to my blowing test im 32%?I have tried to tell the medics that its my throat and upper airways but they never listened I also have a good response to inhaler in test so was diagnosed with ACOS but has yet

I have had no treatment for the Asthma elament to this horrid illness thankyou for reading my rant xx

That’s not great is it and whoever you’re under needs to take on board what you’re saying.

Oh my,your poor thing shadow4me you have been so long without your voice,it must be so upsetting,that you don't seem to be getting any answers from you Consultant's. No need to panic as far as the possibilities of having a Lung Reduction operation,if your surgeon says you aren't ready yet,then take his advice and you're time will come! Try and relax and hope for a good weekend eh?

I have very bad reflux or should say I used to, My doc said to take Gaviscon as when needed as reflux can have bad effects on the respiratory track as the acidic content of the reflux damages the linings. Taking copious amounts of Gaviscon, which is an acquired taste to say the least, and a change in diet efflux for me is seldom a problem and I stopped taking Gaviscon.
