Hi, my husband has moderate COPD and has just been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, we are still waiting for echocardiogram results. I just wondered if anyone else suffers from Afib with COPD and if so, do they still take oral steroids during an exacerbation. My husband feels that steroids may make it worse? Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

I also have Afib along with severe emphsyma and have taken steroids for exacerbations about a half dozen times. Don’t feel it affected the Afib in any way when I have taken them, so try not to worry! Good luck!
