Hi Emily,

Good luck with your PR, you will be fine once you start it, I finished my ten week course in October last year, and I have carried on doing it myself at home twice a week, in fact I have just finished a session an hour ago, it can be daunting when you first start, but you will start to enjoy it and wonder what you we’re worried about.

Ian.

Hi absolutely loved it bit hard going in parts but we talked about inhalers after and the new all in one inhaler was a bit confused about that ..she went through my spirometry test results with me..this was because a woman in the group and I was talking about our fears and she asked the nurse if we could speak to her after. She went through my spirometry test results she said after inhaler it was mild/moderate. She also gave me some things I could ask consultant on the 25th...so exercise, inhaler knowledge and points to speak to consultant about

She asked when last infection was I said 1st December she the asked when I finished the antibiotics and steriods for that period I said about 21st Dec. She said ask for another spirometry test as they usually do this 8 weeks after ...wasn't not to sure what she meant but having another spirometry test at surgery 26th March...so yes and met some lovely people

Brilliant glad you enjoyed it and met some lovley people.

In regards to the 8 weeks after it just means they won't do spirometer test until your between 6 and 8 weeks clear of chest infection and off antibiotics and steroids for that time

Keep going x

in reply to Blackbird6

My spirometry test done 24th Jan was not 6-8 weeks clear of my accute bronchitis where I was hospitalised in December.oh I get it now..Thank you

Results are far more likely to go up Emily - you'll be further on from your infection AND so much fitter after more PR sessions. So glad you enjoyed it so much - you'll quickly notice a difference. Look forward to hearing more :) :)

That is good im glad you enjoyed it and you got something from it. Keep up with the exercises and your upper body strength will improve as will your overall fitness level. Then you wont get so out of breath on exertion and you will worry less. Well done and keep up the good work xx
