Hi, i have just joined your community. I am hoping to find someone to chat to who knows what living with copd is like. I am very lonely and don't have any close friends to talk to. Please is there anyone out there who is willing to chat to me sometimes?

Hi, welcome to the site. I am living with copd since 2007, and know how awful it can be. If managed / controlled correctly then it’s not quite so scary. It is frightening, but getting anxious and fearing the worst doesn’t help. ( it’s not easy i know). Try and stay positive, stay focused on nice things, keep occupied . Feel free to always post on here. It’s good to talk ( as i have found), with people/ friends who understand when others around us don’t. Take care.
Hello Jjray and welcome. You will never be lonely here we are one big happy family, just post away and there will always be someone to chat to. Have a good night and take care.😊 Bernadette xx
Hello Jjray, welcome to this friendly forum where you will find members to chat to.
My husband Pete was diagnosed with COPD in 2010. He also has sarcoidosis, osteoporosis and back problems but does very well considering. The worst thing to have happened recently is cellulitis and severe sepsis. Even that couldn’t keep Pete down and he’s recovering well.
Hi & welcome. Yes, come and chat when you feel the need, we will understand. Loneliness can sometimes be harder to cope with than a physical illness and often make the physical problem seem worse. I hope that you won't feel quite as lonely now that you have joined us. Best wishes.
Welcome Jjray, you wont feel lonely on this site and there are plenty of people with copd that can answer your queries or fears along with giving you a laugh with their wit and humour. Irene x

Of course we can talk to you. We are all in the same boat mainly copd. I started in 2008. It was mild then but like a twit I carried on smoking but I eventually cut back. The last 18 months have not been good ended up in hospital for 10 days. My close friends hubby and daughter have been good. My family live down south so dont see them much. But I do enjoy coming on this site were we are all friends. Can ask questions with being judged.welcome aboard

Hello Jjray the members here are very knowledgeable and are happy to help and fully understand what you are going through. I have received support and good advice from them, do not worry, you are in the right place. I don't write often on here because of my poor grammar. However I do read the posts they can be informative and sometimes very amusing. which brightensw my day. I do not say thank you to the member enough, stay positive things are never as bad as they seem.
Hi there. The worst thing I'm going through right now is anxiety. I live with my son who helps a lot with my care. Trouble is when i start to feel anxious i feel i need him to be with me talking to me. I hate being this way as i feel it's not fair to him. Any tips on trying to combat the anxiety?
