I'm rather nervous, so my breathing is worse. I don't know why I'm going. My pulmonary doctor made the appointment. I've never heard of someone with emphysema sent off to a neurologist. Wish me luck. The first thing I'm gonna tell him is don't scare me any more than I already am. I already know I've got problems.

Bless you challny. Let’s see what the appointment brings and try not to worry. Thinking of you. Xxx 😘
Hi Challny. Sorry I can't help, Just want to send you Good Luck and let us know how you get on, Stay Strong & Positive Hun ...Love n Hugs. xxxxx
Appointment went well. His own nurse said she had never heard of a COPD patient seeing a neurologist, but he said he has seen some and understands why my pulmo sent me. Nice guy. Would like to do some tests and take blood. I skipped out on the blood because I was in a hurry, but he said that's fine, we'll get it later. He said my pulmo just wanted to eliminate any other possibilities that could be affecting my breathing, like muscles and skeletal. I'm game. I don't want to be like Trump, who says, "I know more than my generals." I DO NOT know more than my doctors.
Glad your appointment went well Challny. I am under a neurologist too with muscle problems, although I had to get a referral from my GP as my resp consultant doesn’t think there’s any problem with not being able to walk or breathe properly as long as my lung function is good (sorry to rant) and I’m now getting some answers.
Sounds like you saw a good neurologist. Really hope they can be helpful to you x
Glad your appointment went well. And wonderful that your consultant is being so very thorough. Do let us know if there are exciting developments in your results. Good wishes.
Thanks to all for your kind replies. I am not really expecting any "exciting developments" ( although would that not be great?) But as I stated before, I'm in no position to question doctors who are trying to help me. I'm not on 02 but I certainly struggle with this disease. I hope all of you are doing well.
I agree -- I should not have skipped the blood, but the doctor said I did not have to do it right then. I had spent an hour and a half in the waiting room and had my partner and her father waiting on me at home. They want to do some more tests, and I will do the blood then. Hope you're doing well, RedSox.

Hi, saw your post about the neorologist, this does not sound a standard practice. I've got severe emphysema and this visit has never been suggested. If it does you good please let me know. Meanwhile good luck & try not to get worked up to make the breathing harder.
