resting heart rate
Snap, I have a similar problem, but my resting heart rate is a little higher than yours.....the more I notice the palpitations, the more I worry, the higher the heart rate. A real problem cycle.
Does your health professional know of the problem tachycardia , mine does. I have had ECG s in the past and they were fine. You can be examined and advised by your GP or nurse.
Trouble is the less physical activity, the less muscle tone I have, so that's another problem cycle.
My inhaler raises the rate too.
Last week I found an item about yoga breathing..... I will try this breathing technique .
Called pranayama ......or Cardiac Coherence Breathing.....said to dampen anxiety and stabilise heartbeat.
I have practiced yoga for years, so newcomers should ask their health professional first before trying in case of any adverse side effects.
But relaxation exercises , mindfulness, distraction, and most of all meditation help calm me.
But I must move more to gain muscle tone...the BLF have a good free DVD too. Have you asked about pulmonary rehab, I used to go to cardiac rehab classes which were useful.
I did set my timer for twenty minute intervals to make me walk from room to room, but I am afraid that didn't last long ...I must try again though.
Best wishes and take care.
My Fitbit nudges me to walk at least 250 steps every hour, which helps.
Some great suggestions there, knitter.
Anxiety will do it! I feel for you, my advice is to have a chat with your GP and get something you can have on hand to take in the event of a panic attack. They are the worst and can be quite difficult to cope with. As already suggested, yoga, meditation and walking are key... apart from that try some breathing exercises, take a shower or bath, burn some essential oils, get outside for some fresh air, make yourself eat something nourishing, phone a trusted friend for a chat or post a note to this community - at any time of the day or night someone will be here. We understand and care and can help you get through it. Hope there’s something there you might try, I find that self-care works wonders. Xx
Start with a 5min walk. And going up 2 stairs. Concentrate on breathing. The more you do, the more you can do. More strength, less panic.
I have a similar problem and can get very anxious very quickly usually over something really silly! But mine does come down in a reasonable time.
As knitter says, the more you concentrate on the palpitations the faster they will get. They seem to enjoy attention😊
I can’t add anything more here as you have been given some great advice , but if you are a fan of yoga then the breathing techniques will be easy to do.
My problem is remembering to do them!!
I hope you get some answers from your gp to put your mind at rest.
My resting heart rate is about 52-4
